Lyra Valkyria and Bayley delivered one of the most physical encounters of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event in July 2026, with the match quickly descending into a bloody fight that ended in a referee stoppage. Valkyria not only defeated the former Women’s Champion but also launched a vicious post-match assault that left Bayley laid out against the steel steps.

The contest featured technical wrestling, hard-hitting offense, and a dramatic momentum swing before Valkyria forced the official to stop the match with her devastating Saka Otoshi submission at WWE SNME.

Bayley targets Valkyria’s injured nose as the match turns violent

The match began with a traditional collar-and-elbow tie-up before Bayley used her experience to take control. After forcing Valkyria into the corner, the Role Model landed a double-leg takedown, but Lyra quickly escaped by reaching the ropes.

Bayley then took the fight outside the ring and delivered a brutal strike that broke Valkyria’s nose. Blood immediately poured from Lyra’s face, but she refused to stay down. Back inside the ring, Valkyria countered Bayley’s offense, blocked the Stunner attempt, and drove her opponent into the mat to regain momentum.

The punishment continued as Lyra repeatedly smashed Bayley’s head into the canvas, while replays highlighted the elbow strike that had busted her nose open. Bayley answered with a hard whip that sent Valkyria crashing to the floor beside a growing pool of her own blood before nearly scoring the victory after a suicide crossbody.

Bayley remained relentless, trapping Valkyria in a punishing Boston Crab after converting a folding press. The high-angle submission forced Lyra’s bloodied face into the mat, but she managed to roll through and escape before creating separation with a series of kicks.

Saka Otoshi ends the match before Lyra Valkyria attacks again

Momentum continued to swing as Valkyria stopped Bayley on the top rope and connected with a diving leg drop across the back of her neck, but Bayley somehow kicked out. The two exchanged heavy strikes before Bayley answered with a cradle suplex, a sunset flip powerbomb into the turnbuckles, and attempted to finish the bout with the Roseplant.

Valkyria avoided disaster by countering into a Just Facelock before escaping another Bayley attack. She then used the ropes to trap Bayley’s throat across the top strand, leaving the veteran gasping for air as the blood-covered Valkyria stalked her around the ring.

Bayley looked for one last Bayley-to-Belly, but Valkyria slipped free and transitioned beautifully into the Saka Otoshi. With nowhere to escape, Bayley faded rapidly, forcing the referee to stop the contest as she lost consciousness.

Lyra Valkyria was declared the winner by referee stoppage, but the chaos did not end there. After the bell, she wrapped Bayley back into the Saka Otoshi, choking her out for a second time before dismantling the steel steps. Valkyria evaded officials, dragged Bayley toward the exposed steps, and slammed her into the steel in a brutal final statement.
