Tag Team Championship on the line
Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY once again proved why they sit atop WWE’s women’s tag team division, surviving a thrilling and chaotic challenge from Liv Morgan and Roxanne Perez at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
In a match packed with speed, power, and late interference, the champions retained their titles after a dramatic finish that saw alliances tested and rivalries further inflamed.
IYO Sky and Roxanne Perez started the bout
IYO SKY and Liv Morgan opened the bout at a blistering pace. SKY scored an early advantage with a big dropkick, but Morgan responded by floating over into a mat slam, followed by stomps and elbows as she fired up. A whip to the corner and a back elbow led to a tag to Roxanne Perez.
Morgan and Perez attempted a double suplex, but SKY slipped free, unleashed rapid-fire kicks, and used Roxanne herself to wipe out Liv before flattening Perez with a sharp dropkick. Morgan regrouped and answered back with the Three Amigos and a running enzuigiri for a near fall.
Perez tagged in and focused on wearing SKY down until the former champion finally reached Ripley. Rhea stormed in on Morgan with short-arm lariats, a ripcord side kick, and a thunderous fallaway slam. Roxanne scored a blind tag and briefly cut Rhea off, but the momentum remained volatile.
Raquel Rodriguez couldn’t help Liv and Roxanne pick up the win against Rhea Ripley and IYO Sky
Perez fought back from the top rope, tagging Morgan after landing a Frankensteiner. That opened the door for a diving Codebreaker as SKY was taken out by a dive on the floor. Ripley barely kicked out, keeping the champions alive.
The action escalated rapidly. SKY landed a missile dropkick for two, followed by a satellite headscissors that sent Ripley packing before SKY drilled her own partner with another missile dropkick by mistake amid the chaos. Morgan nearly sealed it with the Cobra Twist Driver, but only scored two.
Late drama defined the finish. POP ROX finally connected after SKY avoided the first attempt, and Morgan followed with a moonsault, only for Raquel Rodriguez to pull Ripley out of the ring, stopping the referee mid-count. Stephanie Vaquer stormed in to even the odds, brawling Rodriguez into the crowd and crashing into her with a crossbody off the barricade.
With the referee recovered, Perez’s one-arm pin wasn’t enough. Tags were made on both sides, Oblivion connected on SKY, but the champions had one last stand. Ripley planted Morgan with the Riptide for the decisive pinfall.
Result: Rhea Ripley & IYO SKY retain the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship by pinfall.
