A future Hall of Famer & NXT star squared off!
WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event delivered a thrilling women’s singles contest as Bayley faced the high-flying Sol Ruca in a match that blended veteran precision with fearless athleticism. From bell to bell, the bout never slowed, culminating in a dramatic upset that sent shockwaves through the division.
Both competitors entered with something to prove, and the intensity was clear from the opening exchange. Bayley attempted to ground the action early, but Ruca’s explosive counters and creativity quickly shifted the momentum, forcing the Role Model to rethink her approach.
Bayley controls early but Sol Ruca brought her flair
The match opened with feeling-out sequences, as Bayley wrenched Sol Ruca’s arm in a wristlock. Ruca answered with dazzling agility, evading a whip by walking on her hands and snapping off a headscissors takedown that sent Bayley scrambling to the corner.
Ruca continued to impress, landing on her feet from a hip toss and sending Bayley to the floor. Bayley fired back with a stunner in the ropes and attempted a corner dropkick, but Sol countered, walked on her hands again, and drilled a Penalty Kick off the apron.
Momentum swung wildly. Ruca missed a kickflip Orihara moonsault, allowing Bayley to capitalize, but the pace remained frantic. A SPACE FLYING TIGER DROP brought the crowd to life, though Bayley soon recovered with a sunset flip into the turnbuckles for a near fall.
Chaos, counters and a stunning finish
Bayley slowed things down with a knee to Sol Ruca’s back and a rear chinlock, but Ruca refused to stay grounded. After rolling out, she sidestepped a big knee in the corner and unleashed chops, back elbows, and a German suplex before kipping up to a roar of approval.
Ruca spiked Bayley with a cartwheel DDT off the top rope, yet Bayley survived, catching her on a springboard attempt and connecting with the Bayley-to-Belly. In the closing stretch, Bayley placed Ruca in the Tree of Woe, dropped an elbow, and nearly sealed it with Roseplant, only for Sol to get a foot on the ropes.
The final moments were chaotic. Bayley’s diving elbow met raised knees, and after a flurry of roll-ups and reversals, Sol Ruca secured the victory with a clean victory roll pin. Post-match, Zaria joined Ruca in celebration, marking a defining moment in her career.
