WWE travelled to Atlanta, Georgia, to deliver the July edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event. This was the third edition of SNME in 2025, the show last emanated in May from Tampa, Florida.

The July 12 edition of WWE SNME took place on July 12, 2025, at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. Additionally, the promotion will also deliver the second edition of the all-women’s PLE, Evolution, from the same venue on July 13.

The promotion has announced four colossal matches, two of them being title clashes featuring big names like Gunther, Goldberg, Solo Sikoa, and Jimmy Uso. Get to know what happened this Saturday, as we have the complete summary, highlights, results, and winners’ list for the July 2025 edition of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.

WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event Summary and Highlights

Drew McIntyre vs Randy Orton

In the first match of the show, two longtime rivals, Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton, locked horns. Country music star and fellow Tennessee native Jelly Roll was in Orton’s corner while Logan Paul accompanied Drew McIntyre.

Sowing the seeds of a tag team match, the clash saw both Logan Paul and Jelly Roll interfere. Outside interference from Logan aided McIntyre, who took out Orton with a claymore, but this irked Roll, who confronted and pushed Logan off. McIntyre arguing with Roll helped Orton, who landed the RKO, to pick up the win in the first match.

Logan attacked Orton after the match, knocking him out with a vicious right hand, but Jelly Roll once again came to his friend’s aid, pushing Paul off of Orton. Paul then came face to face with Jelly and threw a punch, but the country star blocked it and landed a devastating right hand of his own, sending Logan outside.

Jelly went on to check on Orton, but McIntyre came in and flatlined the star with a Claymore. GM Adam Pearce, security, and officials rushed in to check on Jelly as they removed McIntyre and Paul from the ringside.

Winner: Randy Orton

Grade: B

Key Takeaways:

  • Jelly Roll was in Randy Orton’s corner, while Logan Paul accompanied Drew McIntyre.
  • Logan Paul and Drew McIntyre teaming up was the most unexpected thing from the show.
  • In a backstage segment, General Managers Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis confronted Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul, demanding an explanation for their actions earlier in the night. The segment escalated into a heated argument.

Bianca Belair returns

Jade Cargill was in attendance when Naomi suddenly attacked her from behind, sending her over the barricade and locking in a sleeper hold. Security and officials rushed in to break things up, but Cargill fired back, sending Naomi flying over the announce desk. Security managed to regain some control as they separated the two, but Naomi leapt off the announce desk and took out Jade once again.

With some order finally restored, Jade made her way into the ring while Naomi stood atop the announce desk. General Manager Nick Aldis then picked up the mic and announced the special guest referee for their no-holds-barred match tomorrow, Bianca Belair. The EST of WWE was back and would serve as the special guest referee.

Grade: B+

Key Takeaways:

  • Now that’s how you build up a match, the return of Bianca Belair, who is one of the biggest stars in the women’s division, is also a great thing for the all-women’s PLE.
  • Naomi has been one of the most impressive heels currently, and she continues to shine in every segment.

Solo Sikoa (c) vs Jimmy Uso – United States Championship match

Solo Sikoa put the United States title on the line for the first time against Jimmy Uso. Solo was accompanied by his MFT (Talla Tonga, JC Mateo & Tonga Loa). As expected, the MFT interfered in the match, and while Jimmy was able to handle Mateo and Loa, he fell prey to Talla, who not only attacked him twice but also assisted Solo as he rolled Jimmy up for a pin to retain the title and crush Big Jim’s first singles title dream.

After the match, the MFT battered Jimmy as Sikoa took him out with a Samoan Spike. Jacob Fatu then made his surprising return, delivering buckle bomb after buckle bomb to JC Mateo and Tonga Loa as Talla Tonga stepped onto the apron.

The two giants came face to face, and Fatu launched an attack on Talla but was caught with a big boot. Solo shouted at Talla to finish it, going for the final blow, but Fatu ducked, sending Talla crashing to the ringside. Fatu then launched himself through the ropes with a suicide dive, taking out both Solo and Talla. As Fatu stood tall, Solo Sikoa and his MFT retreated.

Winner: Solo Sikoa

Grade: C+

Key Takeaways:

  • The match was better than anticipated, and Jacob Fatu’s return made it more engaging.
  • The Samoan Werewolf stock continues to rise, and we might see him teaming up with Jimmy Uso now.

Backstage

Randy Orton was backstage with Jelly Roll, apologizing for putting him in harm’s way. Cathy Kelley appeared, asking Orton for his thoughts on everything that had transpired over the past two days. Orton admitted that he had put his man in harm’s way and called it a bad decision on his part.

Jelly Roll then chimed in, stating that Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul had underestimated him. Orton followed up by telling Cathy he had just one word for her, ‘SummerSlam,’ and then proclaimed, “RK-Roll.” The two stars embraced as the show returned to the arena.

Grade: B

Key Takeaways:

  • WWE made the match between the two teams for SummerSlam later during the broadcast.

LA Knight vs Seth Rollins

In the co-main event of the show, LA Knight and Seth Rollins locked horns to settle their feud. Paul Heyman was ringside during the match. The match was going as planned, and the fans were hooked, but tragedy struck as Rollins injured his knee during a spot when he was going for a moonsault from the ropes.

As likely planned, Knight ducked, but Rollins landed awkwardly, tweaking his knee. However, Rollins, after being checked by the referee and the ringside doctor, stepped up to finish the match somehow. Knight landed the BFT instantly to pick up a win and finish the match. Rollins was helped walking backstage from the ring.

Winner: LA Knight

Grade: –

Key Takeaways:

  • Reports suggest that Seth Rollins’ injury is ‘legit’ and an audible call was made for the match.
  • An active star like Rollins, sidelined due to injury, would not only hurt multiple storylines but would be catastrophic for the Raw brand, where another active star in Liv Morgan, is absent due to injury.

Gunther (c) vs Goldberg – World Heavyweight Championship match

In the main event of the show, Gunther defended the World Heavyweight title against WCW legend and Hall of Famer, Goldberg. This was Goldberg’s final match, and he went out with a bang, highlighted by his iconic walk, the explosiveness, and sheer stature.

The legend came very close to a win when he capitalized on Gunther removing his knee brace and parading it ringside, getting into an altercation with his son, Gage. Goldberg landed a spear, followed by the jackhammer, but there was no referee to count as the legend earlier accidentally took out the referee, Charles Robinson.

The Ring General, in the end, locked in the sleeper hold, choking the legend unconscious to retain the title. After the match, Michael Cole handed Goldberg the mic as the legend thanked the fans, bidding farewell to the squared ring.

Winner: Gunther

Grade: B

Key Takeaways:

  • Goldberg’s final match lasted 14 minutes and 18 seconds.
  • Gunther and Goldberg delivered a good match, showcasing the trademark explosiveness from the WCW legend.
  • The ending didn’t make sense due to this being Goldberg’s final match.
  • Goldberg’s final address to family, friends, and fans was cut short due to television time restrains, something which the fans were vocal about online.
