Triple threat for IC title at WWE SNME
The Intercontinental Championship Triple Threat match at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event delivered nonstop chaos, high-impact offense, and controversial tactics, all centered around the ever-devious Dominik Mysterio.
Facing two heavy hitters in Rusev and Penta, the reigning champion once again proved that cunning and timing can sometimes outmatch brute strength and technical brilliance.
The match exploded from the opening bell, with Rusev immediately hammering Dominik before Penta joined in, taking turns punishing the young champion.
Once Mysterio was dumped to the floor, the challengers squared off, trading blistering strikes until Rusev dropped Penta with a thundering dropkick. Dominik tried to sneak back in but was quickly met with a devastating one-arm powerbomb from the Bulgarian Brute, who looked unstoppable in the early minutes.
Rusev dominates, but Penta shifts the momentum
Rusev’s raw power overwhelmed both opponents, as he threw German suplexes and fallaway slams at will. The Redeemer launched Mysterio into the steel post, but Penta came flying in with a tope con giro that ignited the crowd. Dominik managed to land a suicide dive on Penta, showing flashes of his agility, yet he couldn’t maintain control for long.
Back inside, Penta connected with his signature headstand double stomp, but Rusev broke up the pin with a vicious lariat. From there, the Redeemer unleashed his fury, throwing Penta into the steps, slamming Mysterio face-first into the announce desk, and setting up for the Accolade. Just when it looked over, Penta broke the hold with a stiff kick to the head, reigniting the match’s frantic pace.
The action turned into a carousel of counters and nearfalls, Penta’s flip piledriver, Rusev’s Alabama Slam, and a perfectly timed Penta Driver that nearly sealed the deal. But Rusev kicked out with pure adrenaline, responding with a crushing Machka Kick and cinching in the Accolade.

“Dirty” Dom steals another one
Just as Rusev looked poised to win, confusion struck, the bell suddenly rang despite no tap-out or pinfall. The Redeemer released the hold, only to see Dominik grinning at ringside with the timekeeper’s hammer in hand, having faked the finish. Furious, Rusev stormed outside and brutalized Mysterio, slamming him into barricades and posts.
However, in the chaos, Dom found his window. As Penta and Rusev tangled, Mysterio slipped back into the ring, hit a low strike, and nailed Rusev with a perfect frog splash. Referee Danilo Anfibio counted the three, cementing Mysterio’s controversial victory.
Dominik Mysterio once again escaped with his Intercontinental Championship, not through dominance, but through deceit. Love him or hate him, “Dirty” Dom continues to make winning look infuriatingly easy.
Winner: Dominik Mysterio via pinfall
