WWE SmackDown is all set to host a tag team match

The April 25 episode of Friday Night SmackDown will serve as the fall out show after the ‘Grandest Stage of Them All’ WrestleMania 41 and is set to emanate live from the Dickies Arena, Fort Worth, Texas, USA. The show will start setting tone for the Backlash PLE, which will emanate from the Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missouri on May 10, 2025.

The fall-out show of Friday Night SmackDown will feature a tag team clash with championships on the line. The promotion has announced more matches and segments for the show.

“The Street Profits” Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins vs “The Motor City Machine Guns” Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin vs “DIY” Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa (TLC match for the WWE Tag Team Titles)

On the April 25 edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown, the WWE Tag Team Championships will be on the line in a TLC match.

Months of animosity between #DIY’s Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa, the Motor City Machine Guns’ Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin, and the current WWE Tag Team Champions the Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) will boil over on April 25 as they face off in a TLC match.

The final straw for WWE Friday Night SmackDown GM Nick Aldis came when Gargano and Ciampa interrupted a match between the Street Profits and the Motor City Machine Guns on the April 18 WrestleMania SmackDown and stole the WWE Tag Team Championship belts.

That is when Albus decided that he would take the titles and suspend them above the ring in a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs Match on the first episode of WWE SmackDown after WrestleMania 41.

Mystery wrestler reveal

Another mysterious film showed during SmackDown last week, with smoke billowing and pictures flashing on the screen. It concluded by displaying the date for next Friday, 4.25.25. This might be interpreted as a hint for the return of Aleister Black, who departed AEW earlier this year.

John Cena & Cody Rhodes to appear

John Cena & Cody Rhodes are scheduled to appear on WWE SmackDown this week. Since, losing the Undisputed WWE Champion, this will be his first WWE appearance where we can expect him to speak on his loss & maybe build-up for future storylines.

John Cena will also be making an appearance on the show. The new Undisputed WWE Champion last appeared on WWE RAW this week, where we saw Randy Orton itting him with an RKO to end the segment.

Angel Garza & Berto vs Fraxiom

Two WWE NXT talents are due to compete on tonight’s edition of SmackDown, amid talk of a main roster call-up.

With WrestleMania 41 behind us, we can look forward to the first edition of SmackDown following the event, which might include a number of major debuts.

NXT also staged its largest event of the year last week, which featured a title change, with Hank Walker and Tank Ledger defeating Fraxiom and claiming the NXT Tag Team Championship for the first time.

Following the match, there was a lot of speculation over Fraxiom’s future in NXT, with both Axiom and Nathan Frazer hinting earlier today that they were backstage at tonight’s SmackDown show.

Since those teasers, WWE has confirmed that Fraxiom will compete in tag team action against Los Garza tonight.

Women’s United States Championship match: Chelsea Green (c) vs Zelina Vega

Zelina Vega is getting a shot at the Women’s United States Championship, and this time, the title is actually on the line against Chelsea Green!

Zelina has already beaten Chelsea twice before, but those were non-title matches. Now, the stakes are much higher, and Vega has a real chance to walk away with the gold. She’s got the momentum and the wins to back her up, and fans are ready to see her finally get the spotlight she deserves.

On the other hand, Chelsea Green has been holding onto that title and bragging about it every chance she gets. But with Vega coming for her, she may be in for a rude awakening.

Will Zelina Vega finally become the second-ever Women’s U.S. Champion? Or will Chelsea Green manage to slip away with the title once again? Either way, this match is one you won’t want to miss!
