The Clash in Paris go-home show of SmackDown will feature two title clashes!
WWE has arrived in France, but before Clash in Paris, the promotion will deliver the go-home show of Friday Night SmackDown. The August 29 episode of the Blue brand is set to air live from LDLC Arena in Lyon, France.
Multiple big names, including John Cena, Cody Rhodes, Tiffany Stratton, Randy Orton, Jade Cargill, and LA Knight, are advertised for the show. The go-home show is also set to feature two title clashes along with the build-up towards the PLE.
Let us now take a look at the detailed preview along with the match card, timings, and telecast details for this week’s go-home show of WWE SmackDown.
Announced matches for WWE SmackDown (08/29)
- Solo Sikoa (c) vs Sami Zayn – United States Title match
- The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) vs Melo Don’t Miz (The Miz & Carmelo Hayes) – #1 Contenders match for the WWE Tag Titles
- Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss (c) vs Secret Hervice (Piper Niven & Alba Fyre) – WWE Women’s Tag Team titles match
- John Cena, Cody Rhodes, Tiffany Stratton, Randy Orton, Jade Cargill, & LA Knight are listed as featured superstars
Solo Sikoa (c) vs Sami Zayn – United States Title match
During last week’s show, Solo Sikoa’s MFTs (JC Mateo & Tonga Loa) were battling the Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) when Talla Tonga started interfering. Jimmy Uso took out Talla while Sami Zayn appeared, taking out Solo with a helluva kick.
Solo and Sami are now set to collide this week, where Sikoa’s United States title will be on the line. Zayn is looking to capture one of the few titles that have eluded him in his WWE career.
The Street Profits vs Melo Don’t Miz – #1 Contenders match for the WWE Tag Titles
Sami and Jey’s interference helped the Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) win the match against the MFTs. With the win, the Street Profits are now set for a #1 Contenders match for the WWE Tag Team titles against Melo Don’t Miz (The Miz & Carmelo Hayes), who defeated Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) to secure the spot.
Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss (c) vs Secret Hervice (Piper Niven & Alba Fyre) – WWE Women’s Tag Team titles match
One-half of the Women’s Tag Team Champions, Charlotte Flair, suffered defeat last week at the hands of Piper Niven in the absence of her tag partner, Alexa Bliss, who was not medically cleared to compete. The tag Champions are now set to defend the Tag title against Chelsea Green’s Secret Hervice (Piper Niven & Alba Fyre).
