WWE SmackDown Tonight: Cody Rhodes confonts CM Punk; Finn Balor wins & other possible spoilers

SmackDown will take place in Oklahoma tonight.
WWE is heading to the Paycom Center in Oklahoma for the July 10 episode of SmackDown. Two singles matches have been announced for tonight’s show.
At the same time, CM Punk will make his first appearance after defeating Sami Zayn and becoming the new Undisputed WWE Champion on RAW this Monday. So here are five potential spoilers for tonight’s edition of SmackDown:
5. Oba Femi makes an appearance
Oba Femi has been advertised for tonight’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown. The Ruler can appear for an in-ring segment to further hype his upcoming Hell in a Cell match against Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam 2026, just days before the Beast makes his return to RAW next week.

4. Finn Balor beats Tama Tonga
Finn Balor was attacked by the Tongians last week on SmackDown, setting the stage for his match against Tama Tonga on tonight’s show.
Balor could take his revenge for the attack and unleash his fury to beat Tonga in their scheduled singles match.
3. Carmelo Hayes earns a future US title shot
Carmelo Hayes has made it evident that he wants Trick Williams’ United States title. This week on SmackDown, he is scheduled to battle Williams in a non-title bout.
This could see Melo beat his former protege and earn a future title shot, possibly taking place at SummerSlam 2026.
2. Sami Zayn demands a rematch
Sami Zayn‘s years of hard work to become WWE Champion came to an end in nine days on RAW this week. The Ultimate Underdog unleashed a rant right after and could show up on SmackDown to demand a rematch with the new champion, CM Punk.
This could get him in trouble with management and potentially lead to his removal from television for a few weeks.
1. Cody Rhodes challenges CM Punk
CM Punk replaced Cody Rhodes in his title match against Sami Zayn on RAW this past Monday. However, The American Nightmare had earned the title shot by beating Jey Uso in a No.1 contender’s bout that happened last week.
So, he still has a claim to the title match and could appear on SmackDown to challenge CM Punk, possibly at SummerSlam 2026.

The 39th edition will air as a two-night spectacle on Saturday, August 1, and Sunday, August 2, 2026, at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
