Backstage, Cathy Kelley interviews CM Punk ahead of his title defense, asking if being in hostile territory changes his game plan. Punk states that KO is fighting ghosts from 20 years ago. He adds that while he has changed, he still sees Kevin as the same guy 20 years ago.
Randy Orton arrives, stating that after he whoops Cody's ass, he will be coming for number 15. Punk states that he is looking forward to it as Orton leaves.

Cody Rhodes-Randy Orton segment!
GM Aldis arrived, trying to talk Cody out of it, but here comes the Viper. Orton states that there's already a time and place, and he's whooping his ass in Rhodes' hometown.
Cody states that they shouldn't wait two weeks. Aldis stops Orton and states that before SNME, if either of them lays a finger on the other, they will never get a shot at the WWE Championship. Aldis asks if they want to screw the show or want another title shot.
Orton says that he will jeopardize his 15th World title, and then states that while Cody hesitated last week because he is a good guy, the golden guy, the American daydream. He adds that Rhodes is not going to be the one to kill the Legend Killer.
Rhodes responds stating that even if Orton wins his 15th World title he will still come back to him, because he is the Legend Killer and it's not a prediction, it's a SPOILER.

Zayn continues to complain about the last-minute changes, asking when he will get a chance at justice, noting how he was ready to fight last week with a broken hand, but he didn't get his match because of Randy Orton.
Orton arrives as Zayn continues to complain; Orton asks Sami to continue the complaint. Cody Rhodes starts yelling in the mic and he is in the ring calling out Orton as Aldis leaves as Sami yells at the GM for justice,

The two are now set to lace up their boots for the August 21 show. Punk will defend the Undisputed title for the second time against Owens in his hometown this Friday. KO secured the shot in his return at SummerSlam, where he won the fatal four-way match, pinning Sami Zayn.
The MFTs (c) vs R-Truth & Damian Priest – WWE Tag Team titles match
On the other hand, the newly crowned WWE Tag Team Champions Tama Tonga and Talla Tonga will defend their titles in a rematch against former Champions, R-Truth and Damian Priest.

Blake Monroe’s in-ring debut on the main roster is also confirmed for the show after last week’s segment where Giulia confronted her and asked GM Nick Aldis to give her the match against Monroe. The match between Monroe and Giulia is now official for this Friday.
