Multiple title changes transpired in Boston.
The August 14 edition of SmackDown from the TD Garden in Boston addressed the interim WWE Women’s Champion Chelsea Green’s injury and whether she will be stripped of the title. WWE also teased a major match for the upcoming Saturday Night’s Main Event.
On the other hand, the show featured three title matches, with Baron Corbin defeating Carmelo Hayes to retain the United States title, while Jacy Jayne of the Fatal Influence defeated Tiffany Stratton to become the new Women’s United States Champion.
Additionally, The MFTs (Talla & Tama Tonga) defeated Wepa Up (R-Truth & Damian Priest) and The War Raiders (Erik & Ivar) to become the new WWE Tag Team Champions.
The show closed out with a major brawl between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton, after the latter ambushed Cody before his main event clash against Sami Zayn.
SmackDown next week will emanate from Toronto
A fiery war of words also transpired on the show between Undisputed Champion CM Punk and the number one contender Kevin Owens. The two are now set to lace up their boots for next week. Punk will defend the Undisputed title for the second time against Owens in his hometown next week.
