WWE SmackDown (July 24, 2026) - Charlotte Flair vs Nia Jax; fallout from SNME & more set for next week

SNME’s go-home show of SmackDown announced a major match for SummerSlam.
The July 17 SNME go-home edition of Friday Night SmackDown concluded at the MVP Arena in Albany, New York. The show concluded the build towards tomorrow’s Saturday Night’s Main Event, which will emanate from MSG.
During the show, acting General Manager Adam Pearce revealed that if Gunther and Sami Zayn win the tag team match against Cody Rhodes and CM Punk at SNME, they will be added to the Undisputed title match between Punk and Cody at SummerSlam.
Pearce also announced a ladder match for the Interim WWE Women’s Champion at SummerSlam as WWE Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley remains out of action due to an injury. Two qualifying matches for the match have already concluded on the show, and now a third has been announced for next week.
Nia Jax wants payback after the disqualification loss
In the second qualifying match this week, Jade Cargill took on Nia Jax. However, Charlotte Flair, determined to get some payback on Jade, Michin, and B-Fab for the attack on Alexa Bliss last week, targeted Michin and B-Fab ringside before stepping into the ring to take out Cargill.
This ended the match in disqualification, handing Jade the win. Later in the show, Jax, along with Lash Legend, complained to acting GM Pearce about the interference. Pearce announced a qualifying match between Nia and Flair for next week, granting Jax another chance after Flair cost her the first one.
Apart from the build towards SummerSlam, next week’s show will also address the fallout from Saturday Night’s Main Event, which will conclude on July 18 at MSG. Next week’s July 24 edition of WWE SmackDown will air live from the Oakland Arena in Oakland, California.
