WWE SmackDown Tonight - CM Punk retains; Blake Monroe wins & other possible spoilers

SmackDown will take place in Canada tonight.
The August 21 episode of WWE SmackDown will take place at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada. Multiple matches have been announced for the match card, including a debut and a headliner World title match.
With the show set to roll on the USA Network in the United States and on Netflix internationally, here are five possible spoilers for Friday Night SmackDown tonight:
5. Shinsuke Nakamura & mystery partner attack MFTs
Catch Every Update, Anytime, Anywhere
Shinsuke Nakamura teased a mystery partner to join forces with and target the new WWE Tag Team Champions, The MFTs.
Nakamura’s ally could be popular Japanese star Hiromu Takahashi, who could attack Tama and Talla Tonga right after their title defense against R-Truth and Damian Priest tonight on SmackDown.

4. Blake Monroe wins debut match
Tonight’s edition of WWE SmackDown will mark the in-ring debut of former NXT star Blake Monroe, after her promotion to the main roster a few months ago.
She is scheduled to face The Beautiful Madness, Giulia, in a singles bout. With the hype she has created since arriving on the blue brand, she is likely to win her match.
3. Cody Rhodes-Randy Orton feud
Former friends, Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton have only let their fists do the talking since Orton came back at SummerSlam 2026.
Ahead of their Sunday Night’s Main Event match, tonight’s episode of SmackDown could see them come face-to-face and engage in a verbal exchange to build hype for their upcoming bout.
2. Tensions between Tiffany Stratton & Chelsea Green
Despite Chelsea Green trying to fend off Fatal Influence’s interference, Tiffany Stratton ended up losing her WWE Women’s United States title to Jacy Jayne on SmackDown last week.
So, tonight’s show could tease tensions between the two friends en route to a potential feud for the WWE Women’s Championship.
1. CM Punk beats Kevin Owens to retain in Toronto
‘The Second City Saint’ CM Punk will defend his Undisputed WWE title against home-crowd favorite Kevin Owens on tonight’s episode of SmackDown.
Despite having his family and fans in attendance, KO is unlikely to win the title and may lose due to outside interference. This could be done by his best friend, Sami Zayn, who believes Owens took away his opportunity at the title, reigniting their feud in the process.
