The May 16 episode of SmackDown will serve as the fallout show from Backlash 2025!

The 2025 edition of Backlash concluded on May 10th in St. Louis, the main event of the PLE saw John Cena defeat his career-long rival, Randy Orton, to defend the Undisputed WWE title for the first time since winning it at WrestleMania 41.

The Stamford-based promotion is now set to deliver the fallout show of Friday Night SmackDown from Backlash 2025. The show is set to air live from the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina.

The show will feature developments that transpired at the PLE, the promotion will also start the build towards the upcoming Saturday Night’s Main Event and Money in the Bank 2025. Following in the footsteps of Monday Night Raw, the Blue brand will likely announce matches for the May 24 edition of SNME.

Match card & segment for 05/16 WWE SmackDown

  • Chelsea Green vs Alexa Bliss vs Michin (Money in the Bank Qualifying match)
  • Jimmy Uso vs Rey Fenix vs Solo Sikoa (Money in the Bank Qualifying match)
  • Tiffany Stratton (c) vs Nia Jax (WWE Women’s Championship)

Money in the Bank Qualifying matches

As announced by Michael Cole on this week’s Raw, the fallout show of SmackDown will kick off the qualifying matches for Money in the Bank, which is set for June 7, 2025, at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California. The PLE will feature two Money in the Bank ladder matches, one for the men’s and one for the women’s championship match contract. The subsequent episode of Raw will kick off the qualifying matches for stars on the Red brand.

  • In the United States, Alaska, Hawaii & Puerto Rico, the show can be watched live at 08 PM ET, 07 PM CT & 05 PM PT this Friday on the USA Network.
  • In Canada, the show will be aired live this Friday on Netflix at 08 PM ET.
  • In the United Kingdom & Ireland, the show will be live at 01 AM, this Saturday on Netflix.
  • In India, the show will be live at 5:30 AM IST this Saturday on Netflix.
  • In Saudi Arabia, the show will be live at 03 AM this Saturday on Netflix.
  • In Australia, the show will be live at 10:00 AM AEDT this Saturday on Netflix.
  • In France, the show will be live at 02 AM CET, this Saturday on AB1.
