WWE SmackDown Summary and Highlights
John Cena buries Logan Paul in another generational promo

Logan Paul claimed he wasn’t sure if the crowd understood him, but he would speak in English because he’s an American. He pointed out that the crowd didn’t like change, but he was a disruptor. Just as he tried to continue his promo, the crowd erupted with “F*CK YOU, LOGAN” chants.
Logan went on to remind everyone how he put WWE on Netflix and ESPN, boasting about the $6 billion value he brought to the company. As he tried to power through the boos, he called John Cena an imposter and even attempted a promo in French, but the crowd wasn’t having it, continuing to boo him relentlessly.
Suddenly, John Cena’s music hit, and the crowd erupted with cheers. Cena called Logan stupid and reminded him that without the fans, there would be no show. The 17-time World Champion expressed how much potential he saw in Logan but criticized him for not understanding what they truly did in the ring.
Cena called Paul a wannabe and reminded him that he was the original disruptor. Cena also pointed out that Logan wore brass knuckles similar to his, and reminded Logan how his own knuckles said “WORD LIFE.” The GOAT tore into Logan’s earlier claims and mentioned that while Logan’s boys made the list of the 20 most influential influencers, Logan himself wasn’t on it.
Cena called Logan desperate, looking for new ways to stay relevant, while Cena remained authentic. He told Logan the French crowd could see the disrespect. Cena then showed what real respect looked like by meeting the boy from the infamous Belgium promo, completing his redemption arc. He apologized to the fan, embraced him, and took a photo.
The fan accepted the apology, professing his love for Cena, who then made his way back into the ring. Logan fired back, asking Cena to wrap it up, but Cena reminded him that it was Logan who had asked for the match. Cena declared that Logan wouldn’t ruin wrestling, but rather, wrestling would ruin him.
Grade: A
Top Moments & Insights:
- Another scathing promo by the Greatest of all time, blending reality and fiction, Logan was having a hard time with the boos and almost had to yell every time he spoke.
- In a backstage segment, The Street Profits sent a bold message to Melo Don’t Miz ahead of their match but before they could say more, Bo Dallas appeared and delivered a chilling warning stating, “When you come for us and fail, you’re going to find out if he really is your brother!”
Alexa Bliss vs Chelsea Green
Replacing Piper Nive, Chelsea Green and Alba Fyre attacked Women’s Tag Team Champions Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss during the walkout. Due to the attack, Flair was unable to compete, and the Tag Team titles match was changed into a singles clash between Bliss and Green, where Bliss secured the victory via a roll-up.
After the match, Fyre and Green attacked Bliss, which brought Flair who, despite limping on one leg, came to her tag partner’s aid. However, the numbers game took over, and the heel stood tall, flatlining the Champions.
Winner: Alexa Bliss
Grade: C
Top Moments & Insights:
- Piper Niven was initially set to battle for the Women’s Tag Team titles alongside Alba Fyre, but was unable to compete and was replaced by Chelsea Green.
- The attack before the match, which forced Flair out of the match and made it a 1-1 match between Green and Bliss, likely means the tag title match will be booked again when Niven is able to compete.
- Aleister Black’s intense promo aired, where he ominously stated that the violence was only going to escalate. Cathy Kelley then interviewed Damian Priest, who wasted no time responding to Black’s words, claiming that Black wanted to be like him but couldn’t, since he didn’t make empty threats. Damian went on to say that he would teach Aleister what it really meant to be like him, to understand pain.
Michin vs Kiana James
The match was over as soon as it began, as a sneak attack by her hangbag by James was turned into a roll-up by Michin, who got the three pin to win the match in less than ten seconds. With this win, Michin is now set to battle Giulia for the United States title. Irked by the loss, James attacked Michin, with Giulia joining in and slamming Michin face-first onto the steel steps.
Winner: Michin
Grade: –
Top Moments & Insights:
- With the win, Michin will not battle Giulia for the Women’s United States Championship.
- This was Kiana James’ debut match on Friday Night SmackDown and her first match on the main roster since June 2024.
Drew McIntyre calls out Randy Orton
McIntyre picked up the mic, asking the production crew if Randy Orton was hiding in the timekeepers’ area on under the ring. He then turned to Michael Cole, asking for an update on Cody Rhodes. Cole responded that there’s no update as Drew made his way into the ring.
McIntyre called out Randy, who obliged, and McIntyre stated he had something to say. Drew explained that while it was fine for Orton to attack him last week in preparation for SummerSlam, if Orton attacked him because he thought Cody Rhodes was his friend, that wasn’t fine.
McIntyre then went off on Cody, reminding everyone that when Randy was out due to back surgery, Cody checked in on him. Drew claimed it was just to gather intel, which Cody later used in the King of the Ring finals.
Drew called Orton naive and an idiot for believing Cody was his friend. Orton then picked up the mic, acknowledging that McIntyre had made some compelling arguments but revealed he dropped Drew last week because he thought Drew was a prick. McIntyre retaliated with a Glasgow Kiss and lined up for the Claymore.
Orton quickly set up McIntyre for the draping DDT from the ropes, and it looked like RKO time. Orton called for the RKO as security and officials rushed in to diffuse the situation. Orton backed away but quickly took out two security guards with RKOs and dropped a third one, taking down WWE Veteran Hurricane. Orton then went for the punt kick on McIntyre, but Drew rolled out of harm’s way and retreated.
Grade: B+
Top Moments & Insights:
- Orton not only RKOed the two security guards but also WWE legend Hurricane.
- Carmelo Hayes confronted Miz backstage, accusing him of stealing his pins, while the A-Lister shrugged it off, saying it didn’t matter as long as they got the win. Bo Dallas then stepped in, asking if they were both okay with having different perspectives on the situation. Melo fired back with a warning, telling Bo not to let his mouth write checks his body couldn’t cash.
The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) vs Melo Don’t Miz (The Miz & Carmelo Hayes) – #1 Contenders match for the WWE Tag Titles
In the co-main event of the go-home show, The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) battled Melo Don’t Miz (The Miz & Carmelo Hayes) in a number one contenders match. The Miz and Hayes looked in control and even had Ford pinned, but the match continued, and the arrival of the Wyatt Sicks distracted Miz.
Ford and Dawkins capitalized on the distraction, pushing the Miz off the apron and pinning Hayes to secure the spot. They will now battle the Wyatt Sicks’ Joe Gacy and Dexter Lumis for the WWE Tag Team titles in a rematch at Clash in Paris.
Winner: The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins)
Grade: C+
Top Moments & Insights:

Solo Sikoa (c) vs Sami Zayn – United States title match

The MFTs (Talla Tonga, JC Mateo & Tonga Loa) were ringside during the match and caused a distraction during the match until Jimmy Uso and Jacob Fatu came out to even the odds and took out the MFTs.
Despite eating multiple Spinning Solos on the announce desk, Zayn refused to quit and broke the ten-count twice to fight back with an Exploder. Zayn finally connected with two Helluva Kicks and pinned Sikoa to win the main event and capture the United States title.
Winner: Sami Zayn
