Penta & Je’Von Evans appear; Blake Monroe pins Giulia & more!

The October 2 installment of Friday Night SmackDown concluded the lineup for the men’s and women’s ladder match ahead of Money in the Bank 2026. The October 2 edition of the Blue brand emanated live from Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado.

The final two matches closed out the field for the men’s and women’s MITB ladder match, which is set for next weekend, while Blake Monroe finally made her in-ring debut, securing a win against Giulia.

WWE SmackDown Results & Summary

• Candice LeRae vs Tatum Paxley vs Tiffany Stratton – Money in the Bank Qualifying match: Stratton pinned LeRae to secure the final spot in the match. The match marked LeRae’s first in-ring appearance since February.

• Backstage, Nikki Bella confronted Chelsea Green, stating it didn’t matter who won Money in the Bank because she was going to challenge for the title and win it. Paige then appeared and argued that Nikki would have to go through her first.
  • Bella reminded Paige that she lost last time, but Paige said she only cared about beating the hell out of Nikki, which she had already done. Paige then revealed that she had secured a match against Nikki in two weeks in Sacramento before slapping Bella across the face.
• Ricky Saints & War Raiders (Erik & Ivar) vs Rey Fenix & Fraxiom (Axiom & Nathan Frazer) – Six-man tag team match: Ricky Saints and the War Raiders picked up the victory after Saints hit Rey Fenix with the Roshambo.
• Backstage, Cody Rhodes spoke about the MITB qualifying match. Trick Williams appeared and wished Cody the best of luck but reminded him that he is in the match; that means Cody’s story is over. Williams then detailed how he would get the win and then beat the hell out of the Gingerbread Man on his way to becoming WWE Champion.

• Damian Priest appeared in a video package from New York City. Priest warned that if Truth came after him again, he would put him down and enjoy doing it. He said he had returned to the city to remind himself that he was a bad, violent man, and that was all people would see from him going forward because he was El Malo.
• Backstage, Tatum Paxley was distraught over losing her match, with Alexa Bliss trying to console her. Charlotte Flair then revealed that she had spoken with GM Nick Aldis and secured a tag team title match for herself and Paxley against Fatal Influence the next week.
• WWE Champion Sami Zayn came out for a promo, but Je’Von Evans interrupted and wondered what would happen if he became the youngest-ever Money in the Bank winner. Penta then joined them and declared that he was destined to become a World Champion.
  • Trick Williams then arrived, claiming that he was the only person in the ring who walked, talked, and smelled like money, calling himself “Trick Willy.” Zayn became irate and insisted that nobody could do what he could or endure what he had been through. Finn Balor then confronted and attacked Zayn after an argument, but Gunther stormed in and laid out both Balor and Zayn.

• Backstage, Cathy Kelley interviewed Tiffany Stratton and Chelsea Green, but Lash Legend interrupted and declared that she would bully her way to the WWE Women’s Championship.
• Backstage, Gunther was interviewed when Danhausen approached to scan for evil and detected it. The Ring General grabbed Danhausen by the collar and questioned whether his English wasn’t good enough before throwing Danhausen across the hallway.

• Blake Monroe vs Giulia: Monroe made her in-ring debut on the main roster after cancelled matches before. She picked up the win after Giulia fell awkwardly from the ropes and appeared to be knocked out. Giulia was assisted to the back by ringside staff, with fans capturing footage of the incident.

• Backstage, Johnny Gargano was trying to reassure Candice LeRae when Sami Zayn approached him. Zayn revealed that GM Nick Aldis had made it clear that Sami wasn’t allowed to get involved tonight. He then gave Gargano a pep talk, reminding him that without a doubt, he deserved to share the ring with both Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes.
• Cody Rhodes vs Johnny Gargano vs Kevin Owens – Money in the Bank Qualifying match: Randy Orton interfered in the match to cost Cody Rhodes, before attacking him.

• In the closing moments, Owens went for the pin on Gargano and Cody tried to break it in time, but Orton held him by the boots, as Owens secured the final spot in the MITB ladder match. Cody chased Orton into the crowd stands after the match as the show came to a close.
