The 02/14 episode of Friday Night SmackDown emanated live from the Capital One Arena in Washington, DC, USA. The show continued building toward the WWE Elimination Chamber PLE as two qualifying matches further shaped the match next month.

Apart from the two qualifying matches WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton defended her title in a rematch against Nia Jax. The show also featured appearances from the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and Solo Sikoa.

Get to know what happened this Friday, as we have the complete summary, highlights, results, and winner’s list for the 02/14 episode of WWE SmackDown.

WWE SmackDown Summary and Highlights

The promotion recapped the events from last week’s show, where Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso joined forces to battle Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga, along with the attack on Cody by Solo Sikoa in the final moments.

Cody Rhodes

The Undisputed WWE Champion stepped into the ring and picked up the mic as the Washington crowd welcomed him with “Cody” chants. Rhodes addressed the crowd in his usual fashion, asking if they wanted to talk about the path to WrestleMania going through Elimination Chamber, noting that Jey Uso had selected Gunther to wrestle at Mania.

Cody revealed that all eyes were fixed on Elimination Chamber and asked who would face him at Mania, naming Logan Paul, which prompted boos from the crowd. The crowd, however, showed excitement at the idea of CM Punk facing him.

Rhodes then named Drew McIntyre, which once again erupted the crowd into boos, followed by the mention of the GOAT, John Cena, causing the crowd to erupt in cheers.

Cody then stated that Solo Sikoa would not be his opponent because he hadn’t qualified, and he believed the Samoan Spike last week wasn’t meant for him. Rhodes went to speak further, but Drew McIntyre’s music hit, and the Scottish Warrior made his entrance.

Cody Rhodes – Drew McIntyre

McIntyre made his way into the ring, staring at the Champion as he picked up the mic. Drew continued sizing up Rhodes before firing back, “So, Drew McIntyre, that’s all I get?” Rhodes apologized and asked if it was okay to do it one more time.

Cody then delivered the same line with more conviction, asking the crowd, but Drew reminded him of his accolades, championships, and how he was the same McIntyre who had hugged him a few weeks ago. McIntyre stated that he had to remind Cody who the real Drew McIntyre was.

Rhodes fired back, saying he hadn’t forgotten that Drew was one of the few men who had defeated him. Suddenly, Jacob Fatu’s music hit as the Samoan Werewolf made his entrance, accompanied by Tama Tonga.

Cody Rhodes – Jacob Fatu

Fatu stepped into the ring as the crowd erupted in “Fatu” chants. Jacob picked up the mic and went off on McIntyre. Fatu cut a promo ahead of the triple-threat match that night, stating that he was going to WrestleMania, going to win the title and bring the title back to his family.

McIntyre replied that people wanted to see a battle between him and Fatu right now, but it wasn’t going to happen because he had his spot secured in the Elimination Chamber match. Drew then stated that if Fatu wanted to talk to Cody, he could, and left the ring as Fatu sized up the Champion.

Rhodes picked up the mic and stated that if Fatu beat everyone and walked out of the Elimination Chamber, then he would fight him for the title.

A backstage video played as Solo Sikoa arrived at the building. Cody Rhodes started to move ahead, but Fatu stopped him, stating that if anyone was going to talk to Sikoa, it was going to be him, as he had “family business to discuss.” Cody replied that he’d get the first word, but Fatu would surely get the last one.

Backstage

Tama Tonga was backstage, asking the staff where Solo Sikoa was. Just then, Jacob Fatu arrived and attacked the staff unprovoked.

We cut back to the ring as Naomi made her entrance. Wade Barrett, alongside WWE Legend Trish Stratus, was at ringside. Barrett asked Trish for her thoughts on the upcoming Elimination Chamber PLE in her hometown and whether she would make an appearance.

Trish responded that it was great to make her return and confirmed she would be at the Elimination Chamber, though she hadn’t yet decided if she would step into the ring or simply watch from ringside.

Naomi vs Chelsea Green – Women’s Elimination Chamber Qualifying match

The bell rang as Naomi instantly went for two quick covers. Green fired back with a roll-up to win the match. Naomi had control of the match as Piper Niven, ringside, tried to rally the US Champion. Naomi went for an attack at ringside, but Niven pushed Green out of harm’s way.

Green capitalized, landing a big boot that took Naomi down. In the final moments of the match, Chelsea climbed to the second rope, looking for the finish, but Naomi countered with a kick and followed it up with the X-Factor. Naomi landed the final blow, went for the cover, and defeated Chelsea Green to qualify for the women’s Elimination Chamber match.

Sami Zayn

The promotion played a video of Sami Zayn that he had posted on his X account. In the video, Zayn stated that he wasn’t doing great and was dealing with nerve damage.

Zayn went on to say that he had been seeing specialists and revealed that the last couple of weeks had been tough for him, especially trying to come to terms with everything that had happened between him and Kevin Owens.

Sami admitted that it had become somewhat of a joke how KO had turned on him many times or how he had turned on KO, and it almost seemed inevitable at this point. But he believed that this time had been different.

Zayn said that KO had known exactly what he was doing when he landed the package piledriver. It wasn’t about trying to get ahead or send a message to end his career, but he still didn’t understand what it had been all about, aside from helping him win the match.

Sami reminded KO that he had been there for him, yelling and checking on him while he was lying motionless, but KO still wanted him to help cheat and win the match. Zayn revealed that he wasn’t sure when he would be medically cleared, but whenever that happened, he would confront Kevin. He promised his former friend that when they met, it wasn’t going to be fun.

Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) vs Los Garzas (Angel & Berto)

The bell rang as Angel and Sabin started the action. Sabin tagged in Shelley, who continued the attack and tagged Sabin back in as they looked for the suicide dive. Angel and Berto fired back, taking down Shelley and Sabin with brutal kicks.

In the final moments, Sabin and Shelley regained control as Sabin went for the suicide dive on Angel. The two lined up Berto for the skull and bones, and Shelley went for the cover while Sabin stopped Angel from breaking it up. The Motor City Machine Guns defeated Los Garzas in the second match of the episode.

Backstage

Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga were still looking for Solo Sikoa when they found him in the locker room. Fatu asked where Sikoa had been and what it was all about. Solo replied that he had let them down by losing to Roman Reigns and the Ula Fala, which was why he needed time off, but now he was ready to take back control of the business.

Sikoa then tried to mend things with Fatu and Tonga by revealing his plans. He asked Fatu to win the qualifying match and then the title at WrestleMania. Fatu started to leave, but Sikoa stopped him and said that he loved Jacob. Fatu left without saying another word, while Tonga stared at Sikoa before leaving shortly after.

Shinsuke Nakamura – LA Knight

Nakamura picked up the mic and stated that he had waited four weeks in the shadows for a worthy challenge, but there were no warriors here. The United States Champion added that there were just weak guys when LA Knight‘s music hit, and he stepped into the arena with a mic in his hand.

Knight mocked Nakamura, saying that Nakamura claimed to be looking for a worthy contender, but he thought it was all BS. He reminded Nakamura that the last time they were in the ring, he had planted him and was about to pin him before Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga interfered.

Knight stepped into the ring as The Miz’s music hit, and the A-Lister made his entrance, going off on the crowd, calling them basic and uneducated. Miz stepped into the ring and stated that he agreed with Nakamura, then went on to say that he was the worthy contender.

However, Knight stopped him mid-sentence and mockingly reminded Miz that he hadn’t been relevant for very long. Knight then told Miz to go away, as Miz began mockingly crying and reminded Knight of his PSA from last week, where he said it was okay for men to cry.

Knight replied that he and Drew McIntyre were two of the biggest crybabies, as Miz fired back, reminding Knight about his impressive resume. Miz then called his shot at the United States Championship and revealed that he had come to SmackDown with a purpose, adding that Knight would be watching it all ringside.

Knight stated the reason why he deserved the title shot, explaining how he had defended the title every day, but Miz straight up sucked. Knight then called Miz a dork, which made the A-Lister lose his calm and go for the attack.

Knight ducked under and went for the BFT, but Miz cleverly rolled out of the ring. Knight called for him to step back in, as Miz contemplated his decision. Just then, Nick Aldis walked in.

General Manager Nick Aldis walked in and stated that it was obvious to him that Miz and Knight wanted to fight, and Nakamura was looking for a worthy contender. Aldis then announced a clash between Knight and Miz for tonight and clarified that when he said tonight, he meant right now.

LA Knight vs The Miz – WWE United States Championship #1 Contender’s Match

The match was underway as Miz and Knight battled for a shot against the United States Champion. Knight used Miz’s momentum to land a big power slam and went for the cover, but Miz kicked out at two. Miz fired back by slamming Knight neck-first on the ropes, taking control of the match and battering Knight.

Shinsuke Nakamura was ringside, keeping a close eye on the action as Miz tried to win the match, but Knight fought back. Miz then went for the Skull-Crushing Finale, but Knight intercepted and landed the BFT out of nowhere. Knight climbed to the second rope, then went to the top rope and landed the flying elbow. He went for the cover, and Knight defeated Miz.

After the match, Knight warned Nakamura that he was coming for the title. Nakamura stepped into the ring, hoisted the title, and the two came face to face. Nakamura then left, and the segment ended.

Nia Jax was backstage alongside Candice LeRae when Alexa Bliss walked in and wished good luck to Jax for the title clash against Tiffany Stratton that night. Jax fired back, stating that she would be okay, as she was familiar with friends betraying her.

Bliss replied by floating the idea of Jax winning the title and Alexa winning the Elimination Chamber match, with the two stars meeting once again at WrestleMania. The Wyatt Six glitch appeared once again, and Bliss wished good luck to Jax one more time.

The Miz was backstage addressing his wounds when Andrade walked in and stated that he had watched his match against Knight. He offered to teach him something, then left. Carmelo Hayes walked in, stating that Andrade was just a hater.

The Miz floated the idea of the two teaming up to teach the haters and went for a fist bump, saying, “Melo don’t miss.” However, Hayes left Miz hanging as he made his way toward the ring. The promotion then played the interaction that led up to the clash between Hayes and Truth.

R-Truth vs Carmelo Hayes

Hayes attacked Truth before the match even began, trying to inflict damage on the legend. Truth fired back with the iconic five-knuckle shuffle, but Hayes caught him with a kick.

Carmelo was now on the top rope, going for the attack, but Truth moved out of harm’s way. Hayes remained in control, once again climbing the ropes and delivering the flying boot to the neck. Hayes went for the cover and defeated R-Truth with ease.

Backstage

A promo of the Street Profits played, where Dawkins issued a challenge to every tag team on SmackDown as soon as he got cleared. Ford stated that he loved the passion and revealed that they would show the world.

Byron Saxton was with Pretty Deadly (Kit Wilson & Elton Prince) as he asked them about their title clash next week against the tag champions, DIY.

Prince and Wilson stated that they were feeling well and they were done. DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa) walked in, and Gargano stated that he wasn’t angry, he was just disappointed. Gargano said that they weren’t ready. Ciampa then warned Pretty Deadly ahead of their title clash next week.

Kevin Owens

The promotion played a video of Kevin Owens, which he had uploaded to his X account. Kevin Owens mockingly asked if Sami Zayn was not doing well, then fired back, stating that he wasn’t doing good because, in the last six months, he had his heart broken by three guys he loved three guys he considered brothers, three guys for whom he would have taken a bullet.

Owens went off on Sami, stating that Zayn had no idea and didn’t know what real pain was, but he would show Zayn. KO then said that if Zayn wanted to go after him, let’s do that, and he could think of a better place than where it all started for the two in Canada.

KO issued a challenge to Zayn for the 2025 Elimination Chamber in Toronto, stating that he didn’t care if Zayn was cleared or not. Owens ended the video, stating that Zayn would find pain.

Tiffany Stratton (c) vs Nia Jax – WWE Women’s Championship

The bell rang as Jax overpowered the champion, slamming her into the corner. Tiffany escaped with a cartwheel. Jax once again showcased raw power, landing a modified pop-up headbutt and going for the early cover, but Stratton kicked out.

Jax slammed Tiffany into the ring post, shoulder first, and went for the attack again, but Stratton moved out of harm’s way, causing Jax to crash shoulder first into the ring post. Stratton landed the cartwheel attack, but Jax fired back with a brutal Samoan drop and went for the cover. The champion kicked out at two.

Stratton was on the attack as she climbed to the top rope. Tiffany landed the moonsault on Jax ringside and followed it up with a Swanton in the ring. She went for the cover, but Jax kicked out at two. The incredible match continued as both women refused to quit.

Stratton tried to pick up Jax but failed as Nia crashed into her. Jax then lined up the champion for the annihilator ringside. The champion intercepted once again, only to eat a headbutt from Jax. The champion rolled out, causing Jax to crash onto the mat.

Tiffany landed a spinebuster and went for the Prettiest Moonsault, but Candice LeRae stepped in and attacked Tiffany, causing the disqualification. LeRae then lined up the champion, but Jax attacked her, following it up with the annihilator.

LeRae brought in the steel chair, and Trish Stratus stepped in, attacking LeRae. Stratus entered the ring and pushed Jax out of the ropes as she went for the annihilator once again.

Stratus and LeRae battled in the middle of the ring as Jax stepped in and landed a crushing slam onto the ropes. Stratus was down as officials and the referee stepped in to diffuse the situation, but Jax once again landed a leg drop directly onto Stratton’s neck.

As Jax and LeRae retreated backstage, Charlotte Flair’s music hit, and she made her way toward the ring as Stratton addressed her wounds.

Charlotte Flair picks Tiffany Stratton

Charlotte Flair stepped into the ring and picked up the steel chair, sitting down right in front of Stratton, who was still dazed after the punishment. Flair asked Tiffany to wake up.

Flair then announced that she had chosen the WWE Women’s Champion and stated that she would see Stratton at WrestleMania 41 in April.

Backstage

General Manager Adam Pearce was in his office when Women’s Tag Team Champions Bianca Belair and Naomi stepped in. Pearce revealed that there was a development in the Jade Cargill situation and that he had obtained mobile phone footage from the day of the attack.

The video played as Belair and Naomi recognized Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez walking near the ambulance when Cargill was being taken to the hospital.

Naomi stated that she was tired of everyone blaming her for being the assailant, but the video made it clear. Pearce replied that nothing was confirmed yet and that he would talk to Adam Pearce, but Belair and Naomi had made up their minds. Belair stated that they would go to Monday Night Raw themselves to take care of Morgan and Rodriguez.

Tiffany Stratton was backstage when Byron Saxton walked in and asked the Women’s Champion about Charlotte Flair choosing her for WrestleMania. Stratton fired back, stating that Charlotte would know it was Tiffy’s time, but she was now pissed about the attack moments ago by Nia Jax and Candice LeRae.

Trish Stratus then walked in and floated the idea of a tag team match, suggesting that they team up against Nia Jax and Candice LeRae at Elimination Chamber 2025 PLE in Toronto.

Jimmy Uso was backstage, clapping at the match graphic of Gunther vs Jey Uso at WrestleMania, looking happy for his brother’s success. Drew McIntyre walked in and once again mocked Jimmy for losing in the triple-threat match last week.

McIntyre continued mocking Jimmy, comparing his failure to his brother Jey Uso’s success. Jimmy left as Drew laughed, only to turn back and eat a superkick from Jimmy, who then did the ‘Yeet’ after landing the kick.

Damian Priest vs Jacob Fatu vs Braun Strowman – Triple threat for Men’s Elimination Chamber Qualifying match

The three Titans were inside the ring as the bell rang, with Fatu, Priest, and Strowman sizing each other up. The crowd erupted in ‘Fatu’ chants as Strowman and Fatu collided, with Braun taking control of the match, battering Priest and Fatu, who then joined hands to take down Strowman.

Braun was sent outside the ring as Priest and Fatu now collided in the middle of the ring. Fatu and Priest continued the action as both men were on the ropes. Damian tried to fight back, but Fatu went for the slam. However, Strowman stepped in and picked both men up, slamming them down from the ropes. Strowman then took down Fatu with a double clothesline, showcasing his brute strength.

Fatu fired back, thwarting the attack from Strowman, only to eat a flat liner from Priest on the announcer’s desk. Strowman darted in, sending Priest flying through the announcer’s desk as Braun then slammed Fatu onto the desk.

Fatu was now in control as he battered Strowman with multiple hip attacks, a repetitive attack from their meeting at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Fatu brought a steel chair and put it around Strowman’s neck, looking to decimate him. Braun fired back and attacked Fatu, returning the favor by putting the steel chair on Fatu’s neck.

Strowman went for the finish, but Solo Sikoa interfered, taking down Strowman with a Samoan spike as Fatu tried to capitalize. Cody Rhodes darted in as he and Sikoa locked horns. Tama Tonga stepped in to aid Sikoa and battered Rhodes. Tonga lined Rhodes up for a Samoan spike, but Rhodes ducked, causing Solo to accidentally take down Tonga.
