LA Knight appears; Solo Sikoa’s MFTs split; Paige returns to singles action & more!

Before the action begins in Riyadh, the June 26 edition of Friday Night SmackDown concluded the build towards Night of Champions PLE at the O2 Arena in London. The show featured final face-offs that ended in a massive brawl.

The show also featured Blake Monroe’s debut, who attacked Giulia. Meanwhile, Solo Sikoa’s MFT effectively ended with both Tama Tonga and Talla Tonga walking out of the faction. Paige also competed in a singles match against Jacy Jayne, which marked her first singles match since her return at WrestleMania 42.

  • Trick Williams kicked off the show, announcing he and Lash Legend tied the knot in Jamaica last week. Williams then shifted focus to the number one contender Ricky Saints who arrived moments later. The two argued with Saints dropping Lil Yachty and leaving, before rushing back in to drop Williams with a mic shot.
  • Alexa Bliss & Tiffany Stratton vs B-FAB & Michin: B-Fab pinned Stratton after Jade Cargill’s interference to win. Post-match, Chelsea Green rushed in with a kendo stick to make the save for Tiffany.
  • Backstage, Tama Tonga and Talla Tonga confronted Solo Sikoa about the direction of MFT. Tama argued that his obsession with Roman Reigns was tearing the group apart. He pointed out that they had told Solo to stay back, but he ignored their advice, leaving them without championship gold while he focused on helping LA Knight.
    • Talla then revealed that he and Tama had received word from the elders and were leaving the faction. Solo insisted they couldn’t walk away, but Tama responded that they already had.
  • Rey Fenix (c) vs Nathan Frazer – AAA Cruiserweight title: Fenix defeated Frazer after delivering the Mexican Muscle Buster to retain the AAA Cruiserweight title.
  • Backstage, AAA Tag Champs War Raiders (Erik & Ivar) confronted WWE Tag Champs R-Truth and Damian Priest floating the idea of a title vs title match. R-Truth still thought he’s in the Jugdment Day, while Priest clamped Truth’s mouth to accept the challenge.
  • LA Knight arrived on SmackDown after Solo Sikoa helped him in his match against Jimmy Uso on Raw. Knight called out Solo, who arrived and revealed that everyone in his family left him. Knight doesn’t care and pointed out that Solo will now go back to the Bloodline. Solo stated that he helped Knight on Raw because he hates the family, he hates the Usos and Roman Reigns.
    • Sikoa pitched an alliance against the Bloodline, but Knight turned down the offer, stating that he lives and dies doing things his way.
  • Backstage, Sami Zayn cut a promo about how since losing the title match in Saudi Arabia, he has not been himslef and because he’s stayed true to himself, the universe has given him this chance to redeem himself. Zayn stated that he’s going to become the Undisputed Champion.
  • Paige vs Jacy Jayne: Paige pinned Jayne to secure the win in her first singles match since her return at WrestleMania 42.
  • Backstage, Danhausen continued experimenting on Miz and Kit Wilson. Matt Cardona arrived and thanked Danhausen for the Knicks’ championship run, but said that ever since he had been shocked, his fist had been twitching, and he wanted to move back to Long Island. Danhausen ran off without responding to Cardona.
    • Los Garza (Angel & Berto) then confronted Cardona, demanding that Danhausen return their money, but Cardona said he couldn’t help them. Cardona then reached down toward a clothed figure, Danhausen shouted from off-screen, telling him not to touch it.
  • Backstage, Tama Tonga & Talla Tonga ran into Finn Balor who said that it’s good to see Tama making his own decisions, adding that it reminded him of the time together in the Bullet Club. Tama replied that those days were long behind them, and that Shinsuke Nakamura was part of his past as well, pointing out how that had turned out.
  • Danhausen & Matt Cardona vs Los Garza (Angel & Berto): Danhausen & Matt Cardona defeated Los Garzas after an inverted DDT from Danhausen who pinned Berto.
  • Backstage, Gunther in an interveiw laughed at Sami Zayn’s talk of redemption, arguing that if anyone needed redemption, it was him after being screwed out of the title twice. He reiterated that he had been wronged and declared that he was going to tell Cody exactly how he planned to beat him.
  • Jade Cargill vs Chelsea Green: Cargill delivered the Jaded to pin Green and score another win. Post- match, Jade continued to attack Green when Alexa Bliss and Tiffany Stratton rushed in to save Green. B-FAB and Michin then arrived, attacking the two. Cargill finished it off with another Jaded to Stratton before their Night of Champions showdown.
  • Backstage, Royce Keys met with Solo Sikoa, stating that Solo knows Jacob Fatu is coming for him. Solo asked if Keys will have his back, like he had his. Keys takes a long pause, before leaving.
    • In another segment, Trick Williams alongside Lil Yachty cut a promo on Ricky Saints following the sneak attack.
  • Giulia vs Kiana James: Giulia defeated Kiana James after delivering the arrivideci knee, followed by the northern lights bomb. Blake Monroe attacked Giulia after the match, announcing her arrival on the SmackDown brand.
  • Cody Rhodes, Sami Zayn and Gunther closed out the show with a promo battle. Jey Uso also joined in, stating that he intended to punch his ticket to SummerSlam by winning the King of the Ring tournament. He added that whoever walked out as champion in Riyadh would receive a warning, except for Gunther, because he had already made him tap out at WrestleMania.
  • Gunther dropped Jey and this kicks off a brawl. Oba Femi then arrived to stare down Jey and Cody. Jey dropped Cody with a superkick as Gunther takes him out to stare down Femi. Zayn stepped in to drop Gunther and Cody laid out Sami with a Cross Rhodes. Cody goes to pick up the title as Femi steps in the ring and the two face off to close out the show.

In the final match of the show, Giulia defeated Kiana James and was attacked by Blake Monroe, who made her official debut on SmackDown. While a massive brawl involving Cody Rhodes, Gunther, Sami Zayn and Jey Uso closed out the show as Oba Femi also arrived to face off with Rhodes.
