Pretty Deadly win, Chelsea Green retains, Drew McIntyre defeats Jimmy Uso, Damian Priest retaliates & more!

Tonight’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown served as the fallout show from the Elimination Chamber PLE and featured developments from the second PLE of 2025. The 07/03 episode of the Blue brand emanated from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.

A street fight was announced for the show, where Women’s United States Champion Chelsea Green battled Michin. Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes also responded to the betrayal and attack by John Cena at the Chamber PLE.

Get to know what happened this Friday, as we have the complete summary, highlights, results, and winner’s list for the 03/07 episode of WWE SmackDown.

WWE SmackDown Summary and Highlights

Drew McIntyre ambushed Damian Priest during his arrival backstage as that night’s SmackDown kicked off with a bang!

Randy Orton

Randy Orton stepped into the ring as the crowd erupted in “Randy” chants, and Orton picked up the mic. Randy stated that ever since he started in the business, John Cena who immediately drew a chorus of boos from the crowd was always on top, but now, he claimed, Cena was “on Rock’s bottom.”

The Viper welcomed the crowd to Friday Night SmackDown and mentioned that Cena had been one of the few friends he had in the business. Orton then listed Kevin Owens as another friend he had on his short list. He acknowledged that he respected Kevin Owens as a wrestler and praised his journey, but made it clear that it was Kevin Owens the man he had a problem with.

Orton explained that Owens’ veins ran with jealousy and pointed out how KO had betrayed Cody Rhodes and Sami Zayn, despite their friendships. Orton stated that he had considered Owens a friend because he was simply trying to protect him, yet he still found himself puzzled by Owens’ actions, even after Owens had achieved so much in WWE, including multiple title reigns.

The Viper then reflected on his spine surgery and how he pushed through despite doctors telling him that his in-ring career was over.

Randy reflected on his return, recounting the feeling that washed over him after landing the RKO on Owens a feeling he hadn’t experienced in over a decade. He said the voices in his head started speaking to him, urging him to kick Owens so hard that his family wouldn’t recognize his face. Orton then sent a stern warning, declaring that he would prove that Pat McAfee was only the second greatest ‘Punter’ in WWE.

Backstage

An earlier backstage segment is shown where General Manager Nick Aldis is with WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton. Women’s United States Champion Chelsea Green and Piper Niven walk in. Green states that she is being discriminated against, claiming she was forced to fight last week and now has to battle Michin tonight.

Stratton reminds Green that she was in a meeting and then goes off on her, with Piper Niven retaliating. Stratton then floats the idea of a clash between herself and Niven tonight. Green interjects, but Aldis steps in, reminding her that Niven works for WWE, not for Chelsea, and he likes the idea. Aldis then makes the match official, set to take place next, after the commercial break.

WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton vs Piper Niven

The bell rang, and the match was underway as the two women locked arms in the middle of the ring, which quickly turned into a shoving contest. Niven overpowered Stratton, slamming the champion onto the mat.

Stratton showcased her speed, but Niven’s strength was too much, as she slammed the champion again, followed by a running senton. Stratton managed to move out of harm’s way and landed some offense of her own, going for an early cover.

Stratton then went for a flying elbow, but Niven caught her and sent her outside the ring. Niven followed up by landing a splash directly on the concrete floor. Stratton looked to rally, taking back control of the match and going for the cover, but Niven kicked out.

Niven drove Tiffany into the corner and went for an attack, but Stratton ducked and landed a splash from the top rope. She went for the cover once again, but Niven stayed in the match.

Niven lined up for a splash, but Stratton moved out of the way, landing a beautiful moonsault. She quickly went for the cover, and Tiffany Stratton defeated Piper Niven in the first match of the evening.

After the match, Charlotte Flair stepped into the ring and ambushed Stratton, attacking her injured knee. Flair then locked in a submission hold, as referees rushed in and pleaded with Flair to release the hold.

Nick Aldis

General Manager Nick Aldis cuts a promo detailing the state of the Men’s Tag Team division, recapping all the developments between DIY, the Motor City Machine Guns, Pretty Deadly, and the Street Profits. Aldis then announces that DIY will defend the WWE Tag Team Championships against both the Street Profits and the Motor City Machine Guns.

He also reveals that Pretty Deadly and Los Garzas will face off in a triple threat match to determine the next challenger for the tag titles. The Motor City Machine Guns’ music hits, and Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin make their way to the ring for the triple threat match.

Motor City Machine Guns vs Pretty Deadly vs Los Garzas – Triple Threat match for WWE Tag Team Championship number one contender

Pretty Deadly (Kit Wilson & Elton Prince) made their entrance as Los Garzas (Angel & Berto), along with the Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin), waited in the ring. The bell rang, and Sabin and Wilson were ready to start the action, but Angel tagged himself in, yelling at Sabin to get out of the ring.

The unwarranted tags continued, leading to an all-out brawl as the three teams clashed. Los Garzas stood tall as they took out both teams with a moonsault from the top rope, landing directly on the concrete floor. Shelley took down Pretty Deadly and tagged in Sabin, who immediately went after Berto. Sabin then flew through the ropes, taking down everyone on the outside.

The Motor City Machine Guns lined up for their Skull and Bones finisher, but Wilson pushed Shelley off the top rope. In the chaos, Prince rolled up Sabin for the cover, and Pretty Deadly emerged victorious as the number one contenders for the WWE Tag Team Championship.

Bianca Belair – Naomi – Jade Cargill

Bianca Belair’s music hit as the EST of WWE made her entrance. The promotion played a recap of Monday Night Raw, where Iyo Sky defeated Rhea Ripley to become the new Women’s World Champion. Belair stepped inside the ring, picked up the mic, and stated that she should feel on top of the world after winning the Elimination Chamber, but it was hard when two of her friends were fighting.

Bianca then expressed that she didn’t believe Naomi would attack Jade Cargill, revealing that both Cargill and Naomi had stopped answering her texts. She called for Naomi to come out and give her some answers. Naomi’s music hit, and she walked out wearing a neck brace after the recent attack.

Naomi stepped into the ring and reminded Bianca that she was the one who stepped up and had her back when Cargill couldn’t compete. Belair stood firm, repeating her question and asking if Naomi had attacked Jade.

Naomi advised Bianca to focus on getting the tag titles back from Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez, and then worry about WrestleMania. Bianca once again asked the same question. Naomi then revealed that she believed Cargill had been riding on Bianca’s coattails the entire time and that she had to watch someone like Jade succeed while she was left behind, fighting for herself.

Naomi broke into tears, saying she didn’t care about Jade because Jade didn’t care about Bianca. The two friends began to argue, with Bianca demanding a simple “Yes” or “No” answer. Naomi finally admitted that she attacked Jade Cargill, shocking the crowd.

Bianca, fighting back tears, stated that it hurt her deeply because she loved Naomi. She then declared that Naomi and she were done, leaving the ring as Naomi pleaded for Bianca to come talk to her, apologizing. Naomi removed her neck brace, claiming she should have pushed harder and sooner, stating that everyone turned on her, including Bianca. Naomi then called Belair an “ungrateful b*tch!”

Suddenly, Jade Cargill arrived in the arena, sprinting toward the ring dressed in a blood-splattered dress. Naomi attempted to leave, but Cargill caught her near the barricade and launched an assault, slamming Naomi’s head against the ring post. Back inside the ring, Cargill hit Naomi with Jaded and stood triumphantly atop her, with Naomi appearing unconscious beneath her.

Backstage

Byron Saxton caught up with Drew McIntyre and asked him about the attack on Damian Priest, with some calling it an unprovoked assault.

McIntyre immediately went off on John Cena, stating that he would have saved the people so much trouble, but it was Damian Priest who ruined his chances. He added that now, he had nothing left to offer but violence, and it would all start tonight with the “black sheep of the family.”

Byron Saxton is with Charlotte Flair as he asks her why she ambushed the WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton. Flair reminds that she had already warned Strattion and claims that the Women’s division has gone soft during her absence.

B-Fab walks in and interjects asking if Flair really meant that the Women’s division has gone soft. Flair replies that nobody can compare to her, and the two start arguing. B-Fab states that nobody looks up to her anymore, Flair then fires back and floats the idea of a clash next week in Barcelona, Spain.

Braun Strowman vs Solo Sikoa

The bell rang as Solo Sikoa tried to take down Braun Strowman, but Strowman fired back, sending Sikoa over the top rope. Braun went for the Strowman Express attack, but Solo moved out of harm’s way, sending Strowman crashing onto the steel steps.

Sikoa followed up with a brutal hip attack directly onto the barricade. Back from commercials, Sikoa was still in control as he picked up Strowman and landed a Samoan drop. Sikoa delivered a running hip attack, calling for another one, but Strowman countered with a massive boot, followed by a crossbody.

Braun then went for the Strowman Express once again, knocking Sikoa flat onto the concrete floor. Strowman continued his assault, slamming Solo and going for the cover, but Tama Tonga entered and attacked Strowman. Braun fired back, taking Tonga down outside the ring, as Jacob Fatu’s music hit and the Samoan Werewolf entered the fray.

Strowman and Fatu locked eyes as both men climbed up to the apron and stepped into the ring. The two monsters collided, with Fatu landing two back-to-back superkicks, sending Strowman out of the ring. Fatu went for a suicide dive, but Strowman caught him and slammed him right onto the announcer’s desk.

Strowman flaunted as Fatu rose up and took him down. Fatu then sent Braun over the barrier, and the brawl spilled into the crowd stands. Fatu sent Strowman onto the production boxes and joined him on top. Jacob picked up Strowman, who managed to get back on his feet and choke-slammed Fatu right onto the table below.

Backstage

Byron Saxton was backstage with LA Knight, asking him about the title clash tonight against Shinsuke Nakamura. Knight immediately went off on Jacob Fatu, stating that the man who cost him the US title last time is no longer in the picture.

Knight then cut a promo ahead of the title match, sending a warning to Nakamura. He emphasized that, despite all the sneak attacks, he stood tall and was ready for tonight. Meanwhile, Chelsea Green called for Piper Niven to shake it off as Niven was still recovering from her clash with Tiffany Stratton.

Zelina Vega then walked in, stating that she didn’t care if it was her or Michin who held the title, she was coming after it. Chelsea Green’s music hit, and the Women’s United States Champion made her entrance, accompanied by Piper Niven, ready to defend her title.

Chelsea Green vs Michin – Street Fight for the Women’s United States Championship

Green was waiting inside the ring as Michin walked in, carrying a trash can filled with steel chairs, a kendo stick, and other weapons. Without wasting any time, Green attacked Michin before she could even make her full entry, and the street fight was underway.

Michin retaliated by attacking Green with the steel tray, bringing in the rest of the weapons. Michin stepped into the ring as the bell rang, and Green attacked with the steel chair.

Green slammed Michin with the trash can, but Michin turned it around with a slam. The action spilled ringside, where Michin bit Chelsea’s finger. Michin then sprayed Green with a fire extinguisher before going to grab tables. However, Piper Niven entered and attacked Michin, slamming her head on the announcer’s desk.

Niven sent Michin back into the ring and held a trash can on her head while Green landed a dropkick from the top rope, going for the cover, but Michin kicked out. B-Fab rushed into the ring to even the odds, attacking Niven with a kendo stick. Niven tried to evade and ran toward the crowd stands.

Back in the ring, Michin attacked Green with the kendo stick, lining her up with the trash can and delivering a hip attack near the buckle. Michin went for the cover, but Green kicked out. Michin brought a table into the ring and tried to set up for a move, but Green, out of nowhere, landed a bulldog slam and set up the table.

Green went for a slam but Michin countered with an Eat Defeat right onto the table. The table leg collapsed, and Michin followed it up with a slam from the top rope. Michin went for the cover, but just as the count was about to happen, a masked person pulled Green out of the ring.

It was Alba Fyre, who attacked Michin, landing a Canadian Destroyer on the challenger. Fyre then brought Green back into the ring for the cover, and Chelsea Green retained her title. Fyre showcased her allegiance to Chelsea Green, solidifying her position as an ally to the Women’s United States Champion.

Backstage

Santos Escobar was visibly frustrated as he went off on Angel and Berto following their loss in the triple threat match earlier in the show. Escobar told them that this time, he demanded change for Legado Del Fantasma and stormed off. Angel agreed, nodding his head, and followed Escobar out of the area.

Just as they left, Andrade walked in and asked Berto why he took all that from Escobar. Andrade began playing mind games, questioning Berto’s loyalty and self-respect. Berto stood silent, clearly conflicted, before leaving without uttering a word.

Cody Rhodes

“The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes made his way to the ring on SmackDown, carrying his title and sporting a nasty black eye from the attack by John Cena at the Elimination Chamber. As Rhodes stepped into the ring, the Philly crowd rallied behind him, with loud “Cena Sucks!” chants filling the arena.

Cody picked up the mic and, with the crowd’s support, asked what they wanted to talk about. He reflected on the attack, revealing how difficult it was when his four-year-old daughter asked him what happened. The emotional moment was met with the crowd’s sympathy.

Rhodes then addressed the situation with John Cena, as well as his upcoming opponent at WrestleMania 40, the “Final Boss” Travis Scott. He shared that Cena had been his hero and mentioned that one day, he might tell his daughter the full story, revealing that Cena gave up on him.

Apologizing for his earlier language, Rhodes then asked Cena, “Why?” He stated that, if he knew his old friend Cena, the answer would be carefully crafted, but there would be no justification for what Cena did.

The American Nightmare thanked the crowd for their continued support and for choosing him, as “Cody” chants filled the arena. Cody became emotional as he reflected on the moment at WrestleMania 40, where Cena had celebrated Cody’s title win with his family and friends.

Rhodes recalled Cena pointing to the title, saying, “It gets heavier every day.” Cody then picked up the title, declaring that it wasn’t heavier for him, as he had been carrying it for over 300 days. As the promo came to a close, Cody looked ahead to WrestleMania 41 and confidently declared, “John Cena, clearly you want some, come get some!”

Backstage

The Miz was backstage with Carmelo Hayes and General Manager Nick Aldis. The Miz casually floated the idea of “Melo Don’t Miss TV,” but Hayes immediately shut it down, stating he never agreed to it. Hayes then went off, remarking that he would have done exactly what John Cena did at the Elimination Chamber and went on to criticize Randy Orton for his comments earlier in the show about Cena.

Hayes said that Orton was just “hating,” and before he could continue, Randy Orton walked in. Aldis then revealed that Kevin Owens wasn’t in the arena tonight and announced a major match for next week in Barcelona, where Hayes would face Orton in a clash of talents.

Jimmy Uso vs Drew McIntyre

The bell rang, and the match was underway as Drew McIntyre quickly regained control, battering Jimmy Uso and looking for a slam right onto the commentary desk. However, Jimmy rolled off and slammed Drew’s head onto the desk, followed by a superkick.

Jimmy then took McIntyre down through the desk, both crashing onto the announcer’s table. Still in control, Jimmy battered McIntyre with brutal chest chops. As Drew tried to fight back, Big Jim landed a Samoan drop and went for the cover, but McIntyre kicked out at two.

Jimmy hit a running hip attack, lining up McIntyre for another attack, and climbed to the top rope. Drew intercepted, joining Jimmy on the top, but Big Jim pushed him off the rope and landed a superkick. He went for the cover, but McIntyre kicked out.

Jimmy then went for the Uso Splash from the top rope, but McIntyre moved out of the way, and as Jimmy crashed to the mat, Drew hit the Claymore. He covered Jimmy for the win, securing his victory and getting back into the win column.

After the match, Drew McIntyre looked to attack Jimmy Uso once again, but out of nowhere, Damian Priest rushed in and ambushed McIntyre, remembering the attack earlier during arrivals.

Officials and security quickly intervened, attempting to separate the two. However, Priest wasn’t done and took McIntyre down once again with a brutal kick. He continued battering Drew, showing no signs of letting up. The officials and security struggled to get the situation under control, as Priest stood tall over McIntyre, leaving him laid out in the ring.

Backstage

Byron Saxton was backstage with WWE Tag Team Champions DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa), asking them about their upcoming title defense against the Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins). Gargano replied confidently, stating that while there might be multiple tag teams right now, they are the best tag team in the world.

Ciampa agreed, adding that the Street Profits got a bit of revenge on them in the past, but Gargano quickly intervened, declaring that the Street Profits’ dreams of winning the WWE Tag Team Championship were already dead.

Ciampa then held a brief moment of silence, pretending to honor the Street Profits and their dreams of becoming champions. Saxton awkwardly tried to move on and finish the segment, but Gargano and Ciampa interjected, telling him he had to stay silent for the moment, as they continued to mock the Street Profits.

Shinsuke Nakamura (c) vs LA Knight – United States Championship match

The bell rang, and the match began with both LA Knight and Shinsuke Nakamura exchanging powerful shots, each fighting for control. The action quickly spilled ringside, where Nakamura landed a big kick followed by a running knee right on the apron, taking control of the match.

Back inside the ring, Nakamura continued his offense, but Knight fired back with a big boot, sending the champion crashing outside the ring. Knight followed up with a baseball slide, and the battle raged on. Knight then took down Nakamura with a clothesline and followed it up with a neck breaker. Knight rallied the crowd behind him, landing an elbow and going for the cover, but Nakamura kicked out at two.

As the match continued, Knight climbed to the top rope and landed a leaping elbow, energizing the crowd. Knight then lined up for the BFT (Blunt Force Trauma), but Nakamura pushed him off and rolled out of the ring.

Knight pursued Nakamura ringside, but Nakamura took advantage, attacking Knight with the steel chair. Knight caught him and went for an attack, but the referee stopped him from using the chair.

Nakamura capitalized, bringing the chair into the ring, but when he attempted to use it, the referee caught the chair and refused to let him proceed. Nakamura then went for the mist, but Knight dodged, and it landed flush on the face of the referee, Charles Robinson.

With the original referee down, Knight hit the BFT on Nakamura, but there was no one to count the pin. Another referee rushed in, and Knight made the cover. One, two, three! LA Knight defeated Shinsuke Nakamura to become the new United States Champion. The crowd erupted as Knight celebrated his victory.
