WWE SmackDown Summary and Highlights
Bianca Belair returns
Bianca Belair picked up the mic as the crowd erupted in “EST” chants, revealing how important the city was to her. She then recapped her first Mania loss, the title, and the injury, stating that she had to come to Knoxville to heal, and while she was doing everything to get back in the ring.
The EST of Tennessee and WWE welcomed the crowd to SmackDown, but then Naomi came out. Naomi expressed how glad she was that Belair was back on SmackDown, but Belair interrupted, saying it wasn’t the time for “this.”
Naomi stepped into the ring, saying it had been too long and that she just wanted to talk to Belair. Belair asked what Naomi wanted from her as “You suck” chants filled the arena. Naomi asked for Belair’s forgiveness, explaining that she was here because she wanted to fix things. She revealed that she had been trying to reach her, even going to her parents’ house, but no one was there, so she let herself in.
Naomi then mentioned seeing Belair’s photo album, and Belair reminded her of how Naomi had betrayed her and attacked Jade Cargill. She clarified that they were no longer friends and warned that if Naomi tried to go after her family, she would suffer worse than Cargill.
Naomi retorted, suggesting it could be bad if something happened to her. That’s when Jade Cargill appeared, rushing into the ring, and the brawl ensued. Cargill took Naomi out with a big boot, sending her out of the ring as she faced off with Belair. Cargill stepped out as Nia Jax’s music hit, and the Irresistible Force made her entrance. The first MITB qualifier was the first match of the show.
Jade Cargill vs Nia Jax vs Naomi – Women’s MITB Qualifying match
In the fifth qualifying match for the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match, Jade Cargill, Nia Jax and Naomi locked horns. Naomi picked up the win to secure the fifth spot as she joins Alexa Bliss, Roxanne Perez, Giulia, and Rhea Ripley in the women’s MITB ladder match next month.

Solo Sikoa, JC Mateo, and Jacob Fatu were backstage when they ran into R-Truth, who was talking to himself. Sikoa stated that his childhood hero had defeated him, and now he was talking to little ghosts. Truth asked if Sikoa wanted to say something to him, and Solo fired back, warning him not to touch him.
JC confronted Truth, but Truth hadn’t seen him before, asking Sikoa if Mateo was his son. Truth then floated the idea of a clash with Mateo, stating that he would talk to Adam Pearce. Truth left, and Solo hyped them up, but Fatu said that Solo and JC could have their fun, as he had his own business to take care of and left.
Nick Aldis was backstage when he ran into Chelsea Green, who was wearing a face cut over her mask. Aldis mentioned that he couldn’t understand what she was saying. Green then removed the face cutout, revealing her face mask, and Aldis grinned.
Green asked Aldis to suspend and strip Vega, but Pearce interjected, saying that Chelsea’s focus should be on her injury. Niven and Fyre interrupted, stating that if Aldis didn’t take action, they would handle it themselves. Green then suggested a potential clash between Fyre and Vega. Pearce agreed and pleaded with them to leave him alone.
Byron Saxton was backstage with Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton, asking her about the upcoming Money in the Bank. When asked how she was handling the pressure of being a champion, Stratton replied that she was ready for it, as she had always been the center of attention. She also warned that whoever tried to cash in on her title would be making a huge mistake.
Naomi then entered, stating that she would win Money in the Bank and cash in whenever and wherever she wanted. As Naomi left, Alexa Bliss entered, telling Stratton that she should be more concerned about her, not Naomi.
R-Truth vs JC Mateo
Following their backstage segment, R-Truth battled with JC Mateo, who walked in for the first time with his new theme song, accompanied by Solo Sikoa. Mateo made quick and easy work of Truth, landing the the tour of the islands to pick up the win. Mateo continued to batter Truth after the match, lining him up for a Samoan spike from Solo Sikoa.
However, Jimmy Uso ran in to aid Truth with a steel chair. Big Jim stepped in, and both Mateo and Sikoa retreated as Sikoa tried to reason with him. Jimmy turned his gaze on Solo, allowing Mateo to come in and crush Jimmy. Sikoa looked displeased, as he wanted to talk to Big Jim. Solo and Mateo then left as Jimmy checked on Truth.
Wyatt Sicks causes mayhem
WWE Tag Team Champions, The Street Profits (Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins) were in the ring as Ford picked up the mic, stating that this was the greatest tag team division on any brand, any promotion, and they were leading the charge.
Dawkins named Fraxiom, DIY, and Wyatt Sicks as the teams coming after them. Ford stated that they would defend the titles against anybody. Fraxiom’s music hit, and the former NXT Tag Champs made their way towards the ring. Nathan Frazer picked up the mic, stating that they didn’t get a fair shot last week. Ford reminded them that, until Wyatt Sicks interfered, they almost defeated Fraxiom.
Frazer then suggested the idea of running the match back. Motor City Machine Guns’ music hit, and Alex Shelley stated that Fraxiom never defeated them. He added that if the Street Profits were handing out title matches, MCMG would take one. DIY now came out, accompanied by Candice LeRae, who stated that the losers had a million chances and the nerds just got here.
Sabin fired back, asking Candice to shut up, while Gargano grabbed the mic, stating that he brought his wife to even the odds. Gargano mentioned the Wyatt Sicks, then grabbed the mic and asked everyone to forget that he had mentioned the Wyatt Sicks. The four teams were now in the ring as Gargano asked for a moment of silence, but the lights went out in the ring, and the Wyatt Sicks were there.
Rowan took out MCMG outside the ring, while Lumis, off the top rope, took out the Street Profits. Gacy hit a double clothesline on Fraxiom, followed by a powerbomb on Axiom from Lumis. Nikki Cross took out LeRae ringside, as Howdy hit Frazer with a Sister Abigail. The Wyatt Sicks stood tall, having cleared out the ring.
Rey Fenix & Je’von Evans vs Los Garzas (Angel & Berto)
Ahead of their clash in the fatal four-way match where Ethan Page will defend the NXT North American title, Rey Fenix and NXT’s Je’von Evans teamed up to battle Los Garzas (Angel & Berto). Page was on the commentary booth during the match while Santos Escobar was ringside.
As expected, Escobar interfered in the match but it was Ethan who surprisingly joined in as in the final moments of the match, Page shoved Fenix into Evan and then sent Rey crashing through the commentary desk.
Berto tried to capitalize, rolling Evans for a cover, but Evans fought back, climbing to the top rope. Santos Escobar distracted the officials as Page entered the ring, pushing Evans off the top rope. Los Garzas landed the final blow to secure the win in the tag match.
An eerie and short promo aired where Uncle Howdy states that they will not stop until what’s owed, “We won’t stop… Not until we get… What’s owed…”
Zelina Vega vs Alba Fyre
As announced by General Manager Nick Aldis, Women’s United States Champion Zelina Vega battled Alba Fyre from Chelsea Green’s Secret Hervice, both Green and Niven were ringside during the match and even tried to interfere.
However, their interference ultimately cost Fyre as Chelsea removed the mask and ordered Niven to line up Vega, but Vega ducked, causing Green to accidentally take out Niven with the mask. Vega then stepped into the ring as Fyre charged in, but almost took out Green. Vega capitalized on the distraction, landing the code red to pick up the win against Fyre.
Backstage
The Miz and Carmelo Hayes were backstage as Miz hyped up Hayes for the MITB Qualifying match, reminding him how he had taken black mass after black mass to get him here. He stated that tonight, he would make sure that “we” would go to Money in the Bank.
Hayes interrupted, asking who the “we” was that Miz was talking about. Miz reminded him that he was the one who made all the sacrifices and got him the match. Hayes fired back, stating that while Miz had done a lot, he never asked him to and wasn’t responsible for his success. Miz looked pissed as Hayes tried to cheer him up by doing the outro, but Miz didn’t join in.
A Giulia vignette aired, where she recapped her career in Japan, stating that her goal is to be indisputable and impossible to deny. Giulia sent a warning to all her opponents, announcing that she would conquer everything. She asked who would stop her, and if anyone dared, they could try.
Zelina Vega was backstage when she ran into Giulia, who stated that she saw her, but she saw the title more. Vega smirked and left, while Giulia continued staring her down.
Damian Priest
Damian Priest picked up the mic, stating that the win over Drew McIntyre was a breath of fresh air. He then mentioned that they went to war in the steel chair match, where he won, and has since put that match behind him.
Priest spoke directly to Drew, saying that while he still couldn’t stand him, he appreciated the warrior spirit in him. Damian revealed that his goal now was the Championship, noting that the injuries from the steel cage match cost him the MITB opportunity, but he had his eye on a champion, Jacob Fatu.
Priest lauded Fatu and his journey but said he didn’t like the crew around him. He sent a warning to Fatu, stating that if his crew tried to stand in his way, they would meet the same fate. Priest started to leave, but Jacob Fatu’s music hit, and he came face to face with Priest. The two stars acknowledged each other before Fatu made his way for the MITB Qualifiers.
Andrade vs Jacob Fatu vs Carmelo Hayes – Men’s MITB Qualifying match
In the fifth men’s qualifying match for the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match, Jacob Fatu, Andrade and Carmelo Hayes battled in an amazing match with the three stars pushing each other to the extremes. The Miz was ringside during the match but was quickly taken out by Fatu as they tried to interfere.
However, as Sikoa started having trouble pinning either of them to win, Solo Sikoa and JC Mateo appeared, but ended up costing Fatu, who was already displeased by their arrival. Fatu went up top for a moonsault on Anrade in the closing moments, but, Solo got too excited and climbed onto the apron, distracting the official. As the ref was diverted, JC also climbed the apron, urging Fatu to deliver it again.
Fatu stared down the two of them. Jimmy Uso then came in, taking out Mateo with a superkick. Sikoa tried to intervene, but Jimmy managed to escape. Hayes then took out Fatu, and Andrade delivered the finishing blow to Hayes, picking up the win and securing the fifth spot.

LA Knight cut a promo for the upcoming Men’s Money in the Bank ladder match, naming the opponents and stating that it was anybody’s game. He locked eyes with Aleister Black, who reminded Knight that he was partially responsible for Knight’s MITB Qualifying win.
Jacob Fatu was wrecking everything backstage when Solo Sikoa came in, trying to calm him down, stating that he was just trying to help. Fatu fired back, saying for the last time, he didn’t need his help. Fatu then walked off, and JC Mateo entered, as Sikoa looked furious.
Cody Rhodes & Jey Uso – John Cena & Logan Paul
Cody Rhodes stepped into the ring and picked up the mic and in his iconic fashion, asked the crowd what they wanted to talk about. Cody mentioned the record crowd that night and then referenced WrestleMania 41, revealing that he had a moment of doubt, where he asked his friend if he was a good Champion.
Rhodes shared that his friend had told him, despite everything he had faced in front and behind the scenes, that he was a good Champion. Cody then recapped his journey and the challenges he faced during his title reign, from AJ Styles to his ‘friend’ Kevin Owens, and to the Final Boss. He also mentioned John Cena. Rhodes continued, stating that he didn’t know if Cena would ruin wrestling, but if he did, he was partially responsible.
Rhodes then sent a warning, declaring that he would never hesitate with Cena again. The American Nightmare went off on Cena before apologizing to the crowd, saying he was just a bit worked up after returning to SmackDown after all this time. Cody then mentioned the crowd’s hunger for a surprise, and “YEET” chants broke out. He jokingly said, “Perhaps we should ‘YEET’.”
Rhodes then introduced the World Heavyweight Champion, Jey Uso, who made his walk through the crowd. The arena erupted as they “YEETED” in Knoxville! Cody was in awe, but just as the excitement settled, John Cena’s music hit, and the crowd exploded into “John Cena sucks” chants.
Cena stepped into the ring with a mic and signaled to cut off the music. The Champion called Cody and Jey the two biggest wannabes, claiming they were nothing but big John Cena wannabes. Cena stated that they wanted his fame and money but would fail because they were too desperate and too lazy. He emphasized that there was only one person who earned the Hustle, Loyalty, and Respect, along with the fame.
Cena then revealed that his MITB tag partner, Logan Paul, was also there. The Maverick’s music hit, and he appeared, stepping into the ring as Cena hyped him up despite the boos from the crowd. Cena took a shot at the crowd, saying everyone came to see him and Logan Paul. Logan grabbed the mic, stating that he could walk on water and the fans would still criticize him.
He went on, saying Cena spoke the language of Logan Paul. The Maverick ripped into the crowd, saying they would all live their pathetic lives, but at least they could say they had seen both John Cena and Logan Paul. “Shut the f*ck up” chants filled the arena as Paul stated that he should have left SNME with the World Heavyweight title around his waist.
Logan also said that Jey needed Cody to save him, reminding everyone that Jey couldn’t do anything without everything being handed to him. Logan ended his promo with Cena’s iconic line, “If you want some, come get some.”
Paul tossed the mic down, and Jey said they didn’t have to wait for Money in the Bank. The two teams prepared for a brawl, with Logan shoving Cena. The two started arguing as Cody teased Logan, asking if he was going to go backstage and polish Cena’s “peacemaker.” The brawl broke out, with Jey taking out Logan outside, and Cody landing a disaster kick on Cena inside the ring as Jey joined in.
Cena rolled out of the ring as Jey took him out with a crossbody. Logan tried to enter the ring for an attack, but Cody ducked, and Logan ran right into a kick from Jey. The two lined up to deliver the Code D on Logan. Rhodes and Jey stood tall as Cody picked up the Undisputed title, and the two celebrated as the show came to an end.
