WWE SmackDown Summary and Highlights
Brock Lesnar meets Paul Heyman

Michael Cole informed that he would be conducting the Brock Lesnar interview right away and was heading backstage, but Brock appeared near the entrance ramp. Lesnar picked up Michael Cole and paraded him around before throwing him into the ring.
Cole pleaded with the Beast, who was stalking his prey. Brock picked up Cole again as Corey Graves stepped in to diffuse the situation. Graves ate an F5 for his troubles while Cole escaped. Brock then grabbed the camera, warning John Cena that he was coming for blood tomorrow. “John, I’m coming for you!” “IT’S D-DAY tomorrow, John, I’M COMING FOR BLOOD!”
Lesnar walked toward the empty commentary desk, where he began thrashing the Prime stand. Security and officials rushed in to check on Graves as Lesnar stepped in, and they quickly fled. Brock hit another F5 on Graves and dared security to step into the ring.
Michael Cole, along with medical staff and officials, checked on Corey Graves as the camera cut backstage to Brock Lesnar meeting with Paul Heyman, who was alongside Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed. Lesnar stated that they should talk and left.
GM Nick Aldis appeared, saying that today was not the day and mentioning the Undisputed title contract signing. Aldis stated he needed a signature on the document with no issues from them.
Heyman said he was there to broker peace between the Bron Brons and the Usos. Aldis fired back, noting that Heyman surely knew the Usos were in Indianapolis. Heyman played dumb, then added that if the Usos were not here, they would now enjoy the show.

In the first match of the show, Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss defended the Women’s Tag Team titles against the team of Chelsea Green and Alba Fyre. The challengers managed to take control early, isolating Bliss to look for the win. Bliss, however, rallied back to tag in Flair as the Champions delivered double natural selection to pick up the win.

Fraxiom (Nathan Frazer & Axiom) vs The Vision (Bron Breakker & Bronson Reed) – Tag Team match
Fraxiom (Nathan Frazer & Axiom) made their way to the ring, but Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed attacked the two and cleared the ring for Paul Heyman, who stepped into the ring. Heyman stated that Fraxiom reminded him of the Usos, then spoke about Jimmy and Jey.
Frazer and Axiom climbed to the top and took out Breakker and Reed, continuing the offense with two back-to-back suicide dives. GM Nick Aldis appeared, calling out Heyman before announcing a tag team match between the two teams.
Breakker and Reed controlled the majority of the match with momentary offense from Fraxiom, who used their speed advantage. However, it all came crashing down for Fraxiom when Reed pushed Axiom off the top rope, and Breakker took him out with a spear mid-air. Breakker then delivered the Tsunami on Frazer to pick up the win.
Winner: The Vision (Bron Breakker & Bronson Reed)
Grade: C+
Top Moments, Insights & Highlights:
- In the finishing sequence, Breakker hit an insane spear on Axiom mid-air as the latter was pushed off the top rope by Reed.
- After the match, The Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso), in a pre-recorded segment, sent a message to The Vision from Indianapolis.
Triple-threat match for the Women’s title
Nia Jax stepped into the ring and stated that she was sick of the Women’s division, clarifying that she was the alpha female of the division. She then mocked Tiffany Stratton, calling her annoying and saying that was why she put her in a “tiffy timeout.”
Jax also mentioned Jade Cargill, stating that while Cargill looked incredible, she needed to improve her in-ring abilities. Nia warned both Tiffany and Jade as Stratton appeared and stated that everyone was actually sick of Nia obsessing over her, adding that nobody wanted her near the title.
Stratton also went off on Cargill, then threw down the mic and walked toward the ring, with officials trying to stop her. Jade Cargill appeared, and security attempted to stop her. Cargill took them out and walked toward the ring as more officials rushed in to diffuse the situation.
GM Nick Aldis appeared, announcing that Stratton would defend the title next week on SmackDown in a triple-threat match against Jax and Cargill.
Grade: C
Sami Zayn (c) vs Carmelo Hayes – United States title match
In the final match of the show, Sami Zayn defended the US title against Carmelo Hayes. Zayn landed early, but Hayes took control after delivering a springboard leg drop. Both stars put on a great match, with Hayes getting very close to getting the three pin. However, to no one’s surprise, Zayn stayed in the match to deliver the Blue Thunder Bomb and retained the title.

- Solo Sikoa cut a promo about how Tonga Loa was the last one standing by his side. He mentioned that as the son of Haku, Tonga had a legacy to uphold, and Solo felt he had let him down by not ensuring he became a champion. However, Solo assured him that as long as Tonga trusted him and stayed within the family, his loyalty would be rewarded. Tonga then placed a hand on Solo’s shoulder and told him he loved him.
Wrestlepalooza contract signing between Cody Rhodes & Drew McIntyre
GM Nick Aldis was in the ring hyping up the upcoming Wrestlepalooza before announcing that the Undisputed title clash would main event the PLE. Aldis introduced Drew McIntyre, who made his way to the ring for the contract signing.
McIntyre picked up the mic and was about to speak when Cody Rhodes’ music hit, and the Champion made his entrance. Rhodes took the mic, asking if Drew remembered what happened 15 years ago, reminding him that they won the Tag Team titles, but nobody was talking about it as the world doesn’t revolve around him.
Cody acknowledged McIntyre as a Scottish Warrior, naming his accomplishments, but added that the Scottish Warrior was now a Keyboard Warrior. Rhodes asked Drew to pick up his phone, and McIntyre obliged, tweeting out “Thank you, Cody!!!” Cody looked confused as Drew went off on him, calling him a corporate Champion and saying he was talking him to death.
McIntyre warned Cody that the fans would turn on him, and Rhodes would be sitting in his chair thinking, “My god, Drew was right!” Cody reminded Drew about legacy and cut a promo hyping up the match before signing the contract and handing it over to McIntyre, who signed it, making the match official.
McIntyre delivered a Glasgow Kiss followed by a flurry of punches before sending Cody crashing into the announce desk. Rhodes was lined up on the announce desk, but Drew didn’t Claymore him.
Drew grabbed Cody, stating he would not kick his head into the desk, and he would take the one thing that mattered to Cody tomorrow. McIntyre was then confronted by GM Nick Aldis, as Cody came in with a suicide dive, and the brawl was on again. Security and officials rushed in to separate the two as they brawled, with McIntyre hitting Cody with a Claymore, followed by a vicious stomp on the floor to end the show.
