This week’s SmackDown carries huge anticipation among fans!
In the aftermath of the Clash in Paris, which concluded last Sunday, the dust seemed to settle for the WWE Universe, but the fallout show of Raw proved that more turmoil is awaiting them on the fallout show of Friday Night SmackDown.
The September 5 fallout episode of SmackDown is set to air from the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois, USA. Multiple big names, including John Cena, CM Punk, Tiffany Stratton, and Randy Orton, are being advertised for the show.
As of writing this article, the promotion has announced two massive appearances, which might set the stage for the upcoming Wrestlepalooza PLE. Let us now take a look at the detailed preview along with the match card, timings, and telecast details for this week’s fallout show of WWE SmackDown.
Announced matches & segments for WWE SmackDown (09/5)
- John Cena’s final appearance in Chicago
- “The Second City Saint” CM Punk set to appear
- John Cena, CM Punk, Tiffany Stratton & Randy Orton are listed as featured superstars
John Cena’s final appearance in Chicago

The 17-time WWE World Champion, John Cena, is set to make his final appearance in Chicago, in what will be his 8th last WWE appearance. After this appearance, there will only be seven dates left on his retirement tour, which ends in December.
Cena is coming off a win at Clash in Paris against ‘The Maverick’ Logan Paul in what turned out to be one of the better matches of his retirement tour. Despite fans’ speculations, Brock Lesnar did not make his return at SummerSlam after Cena’s win, but he might confront Cena on this week’s show ahead of Wrestlepalooza.
“The Second City Saint” CM Punk set to appear

Following his heated exchange with Becky Lynch, where she interrupted his callout of Seth Rollins to himilate and slap him, CM Punk is now ready to make an appearance in Chicago this Friday. This was confirmed in a backstage segment after the now viral promo with Lynch, where Punk was looking for Rollins.
GM Adam Pearce informed a furious CM Punk that Rollins had already left the building. Pearce mentioned that Punk could confront Rollins next Monday, but Punk quickly asked, “Where’s SmackDown?” Pearce told him it would be in Punk’s hometown Chicago. Punk began to laugh, leaving Pearce confused and teasing AJ Lee’s return.
