Top three WWE superstars who are currently on maternity leave
Fans are eagerly waiting for all these superstar’s in-ring return
In recent years, some female WWE superstars have embraced parenting while managing their personal and professional wrestling careers. WWE has seen performers such as Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey return to the ring after having children, demonstrating that motherhood does not spell the end of a wrestling career.
Some, including Candice LeRae and Jade Cargill, have continued to compete after having kids. However, a few superstars are on maternity leave, taking time away from the squared circle to start or raise their families. As these athletes begin this new chapter in their lives, fans eagerly anticipate their possible return to WWE.
Here’s a look at three current WWE superstars who are currently on maternity leave. Each of these women has made significant contributions to the company and are expected to return to the ring in the future after taking time to focus on their families.
Carmella
Carmella joined WWE in 2013 and has since become one of the company’s most renowned female superstars. She began dating WWE commentator Corey Graves in 2017, and the two married in April 2022. A year later, in May 2023, Carmella and Graves revealed that they were expecting their first child together. Carmella’s baby son was born in November 2023.
Although Carmella has been away from WWE since March 2023, she has expressed a strong desire to return to the ring. In an interview with Chris Van Vliet on INSIGHT, the former SmackDown Women’s Champion revealed that she suffered an injury during labor known as “drop foot,” which occurred due to nerve damage related to two herniated discs in her back.
Despite this setback, Carmella remains optimistic about a future comeback, but her focus is currently on her recovery and enjoying motherhood. As of now, no official return date has been announced, but fans are eagerly awaiting her in-ring return when she’s fully healed and ready.
Valhalla (FKA Sarah Logan)
Valhalla, formerly known as Sarah Logan, is another WWE superstar currently on maternity leave. Like Carmella, Valhalla is married to a fellow WWE superstar—Erik of The Viking Raiders. The couple tied the knot in December 2018, and in 2021, they welcomed their first child, a son named Raymond Cash Rowe.
Valhalla returned to WWE at the 2022 Royal Rumble after being released by the company in 2020. However, in April 2024, Valhalla announced her second pregnancy, leading her to step away from WWE once again. While she has not disclosed her exact due date, it is expected that Valhalla will remain on maternity leave for the remainder of the year. Her return is uncertain, but her fans will be excited to see her back with The Viking Raiders once her maternity leave ends.
Alexa Bliss
Alexa Bliss, a multiple-time WWE Women’s Champion, has been one of the company’s best female superstars since her debut on the main roster.
Bliss, known for her strong rivalries with stars such as Charlotte Flair and Bayley, as well as her partnership with Bray Wyatt, has established herself as one of WWE’s most accomplished performers.
Bliss married musician Ryan Cabrera in 2022, and the pair announced in May 2023 that they were expecting their first child. Bliss gave birth to a daughter named Hendrix Rouge in November 2023.
Although Bliss has been away from WWE TV since January 2023, she has hinted at a possible comeback in the future. Many fans predicted that she would return with Bray Wyatt as part of the Wyatt 6 group, but this did not happen.
Nonetheless, Bliss remains an important part of the WWE scene, and her supporters believe she will make a victorious comeback when she is ready. With a history of great moments in WWE, her return might be one of the most anticipated in 2024.
