Five major names who will likely miss WWE SummerSlam 2026 ft. Randy Orton, Becky Lynch & more

Some top names are expected to miss WWE SummerSlam this year.
The two-night WWE Premium Live Event, SummerSlam 2026, is ready to invade the city of Minneapolis, Minnesota, on August 1 and 2. The show has announced more than ten matches for the card and will feature an array of marquee names on the current WWE roster.
However, other top names might not be involved in the SummerSlam festivities. Here are five WWE stars who are likely to miss SummerSlam 2026:
5. Alexa Bliss
Alexa Bliss had squared off against Jade Cargill in a singles match amid her feud with Bliss’ partner, Charlotte Flair, on SmackDown.
It saw The Storm injure Bliss’ arm as Flair had to watch helplessly, being held by Michin and B-Fab. The Twisted Bliss has been wearing a brace since then and is unlikely to participate at SummerSlam 2026.
4. Drew McIntyre
‘The Scottish Warrior’ Drew McIntyre has been on a hiatus from WWE ever since he lost his Unsanctioned match to Jacob Fatu at WrestleMania 42.
The Scottish Warrior has reportedly been busy with multiple Hollywood projects and, with no clear return update so far, is not expected to be in Minneapolis for SummerSlam this year.
3. Bayley
Bayley has been in the headlines ever since reports surfaced about her WWE contract expiring. While the Role Model did compete at a recent WWE live event, she is unlikely to be factored into the SummerSlam plans this year.
Therefore, fans should not expect to see Bayley at the event amid the huge speculation regarding her future in wrestling.
2. Randy Orton
The last time WWE fans saw Randy Orton on television was in the main event of WrestleMania 42 Night 1. He lost to Cody Rhodes, but had the last laugh by punt-kicking him in the skull.
With an extended absence for the last few months, there is a possibility that Orton might not return or appear at SummerSlam this year.
1. Becky Lynch
‘The Man’ Becky Lynch suffered a shocking loss to Sol Ruca and lost her Women’s Intercontinental Championship at WWE Clash in Italy.
The Man has not been around the WWE landscape since then, and with the road to SummerSlam ending in a week, it is unlikely that WWE would factor Lynch into their plans for the Biggest Party of the Summer this year.

The 39th edition will air as a two-night spectacle on Saturday, August 1, and Sunday, August 2, 2026, at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Where can fans tune in to watch the PLE?
Fans in the United States can tune into ESPN, while international fans (excluding some markets) can tune into Netflix to watch the PLE live.
