Some WWE stars might turn heel before SummerSlam this year.
WWE will be presenting the 2026 edition of SummerSlam on August 1 and 2 at the US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The road to the Biggest Party of the Summer is already underway, and recent events hint that some WWE superstars might flip the script and turn to the dark side. So, here are the five top names who could turn heel before SummerSlam this year.
5. Sami Zayn

Ever since Sami Zayn took away Carmelo Hayes‘ WrestleMania 42 spot, the fans have evidently turned on him and have been booing him louder each week. The Last Real Good Guy might finally snap before SummerSlam and turn heel to focus on himself and his ambitions and leave the fans behind.
4. Charlotte Flair

Charlotte Flair is looking well on her way to winning the Queen of the Ring tournament this year. She has been away from singles competition for more than a year. This has been due to her partnership with Alexa Bliss. However, Flair could win the QOTR tournament and then shockingly end ties with Bliss to return to being a heel heading into SummerSlam.
3. LA Knight

LA Knight is one of the top babyfaces in WWE today, yet his popularity and loud chants are seemingly fading away, as Knight also said in a recent interview. The Megastar, tired of being held back, could embrace a dark side fans have never seen of him and become a monster heel before WWE SummerSlam this year.
2. CM Punk

According to reports, CM Punk is slated to return this summer and possibly move to the SmackDown brand. With Punk returning after losing the World title at WrestleMania 42, he could vent his frustrations on the fans and become a heel to have a fresh start on a new show, while also being a top contender for the babyface champion, Cody Rhodes, heading into SummerSlam.
1. Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins has been a babyface ever since he returned from a shoulder injury and began to feud with The Vision this year. However, Rollins himself has said that he preferred being a heel. Moreover, it has brought him bigger success than ever. With SummerSlam coming up, WWE could flip his narrative and make him a heel again for a more captivating storyline.
