Becky Lynch retains
Becky Lynch and Lyra Valkyria turned up the violence in their intense showdown for the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam 2025 Night 2.
From crowbars and kendo sticks to chains, zip ties, and even a fire extinguisher, the match was a chaotic, weapon-filled brawl that pushed both competitors to their physical limits.
The bout opened at a breakneck pace, with Valkyria landing stiff palm strikes and dominating the early moments. Lynch tried to retreat but quickly turned the tide with a brutal slam into the announce desk.
The Man pulled out a kendo stick, but Valkyria answered with a crowbar, overwhelming the champion in a vicious exchange.
Lyra’s offense carried her all around ringside, even sending Lynch flying over the announce desk into Wade Barrett’s chair. She pulled out a Slim Jim-branded folding table and attempted to set up a high-impact moment, only to be choked out with a steel chain wrapped around the ring post.
Both women went wild
Lynch pounced, unloading kendo stick shots to Lyra’s ribs and following with a White Russian Legsweep. Despite taking a vicious toolbox shot to the face and being zip-tied by the champion, Valkyria refused to give up. Even with her hands bound, she battled back with headbutts, dropkicks, and an astonishing moonsault with her wrists still secured.
In a moment of resourcefulness, Valkyria tried to use the exposed turnbuckle to cut the zip ties. But before she could finish, Becky cut her off. As Becky searched for her opponent under the ring, Valkyria ambushed her with a fire extinguisher and eventually freed herself.
The Irish challenger went on a wild offensive run, connecting with a fireman’s carry and a dropkick through a chair. She landed the Nightwing off the steel steps, leaving both women down on the floor. When Lyra got back in control, she nearly scored the win—until Becky sent her into the exposed steel turnbuckle.
Lynch nearly closed it out with a devastating Manhandle Slam into two chairs, but Valkyria wouldn’t stay down. Becky then stomped Lyra’s chest and hand between a chair and the announce desk in one of the match’s most violent visuals.
Bayley gets involved, but the Champ survives
Just as Lynch looked ready to end it with a crowbar, Bayley made a shocking return to stop her. Becky tried convincing Bayley to attack Lyra, but the Role Model refused. When Lynch attempted a sneak attack with a chain-loaded punch, Bayley fought back, only to accidentally clock Valkyria moments later.
Seizing the opportunity, Becky planted her challenger with a final Manhandle Slam for the win.
Winner: Becky Lynch wins by pinfall, retaining the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship and ensuring Lyra Valkyria can no longer challenge her for the title.
