Chelsea Green capitalizes on chaos to climb the ladder and capture the Interim WWE Women’s title.
Chelsea Green overcame four of WWE’s top female stars to become the new Interim WWE Women’s Champion in a breathtaking Ladder Match at SummerSlam 2026.
The championship bout featured Tiffany Stratton, Charlotte Flair, Jade Cargill, Lash Legend and Chelsea Green battling through ladders, high-impact spots and outside interference in one of the night’s most unpredictable contests.
After several momentum swings and near victories, Green seized the opportunity when the rest of the field was left incapacitated to claim the championship hanging above the ring. The victory crowns Chelsea Green as interim champion while reigning WWE Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley continues her recovery from injury.
Ladders, power moves and high-risk offense define the match
The action erupted immediately after the opening bell, with all five competitors brawling around ringside before the fight shifted back inside the ring.
Lash Legend established herself as the early powerhouse, tossing Chelsea Green over the barricade before flattening Charlotte Flair with a devastating body slam onto a ladder. Flair answered with her trademark chops before being overpowered once again by Legend.
Jade Cargill soon entered the fray, but Tiffany Stratton and Chelsea Green briefly formed an unlikely alliance by dropping both Jade and Legend with simultaneous superkicks. Their celebration was short-lived as the powerhouse duo fired back with kicks of their own.
The pace continued to escalate. Jade launched Lash with a German suplex, Flair answered with a crossbody, and ladders quickly became legal weapons as competitors repeatedly drove each other into the unforgiving steel. Flair even wedged a ladder into the corner before Legend responded with a massive gorilla press slam.
Chelsea Green steals the spotlight in dramatic finish
Several competitors appeared inches away from victory throughout the match. Jade Cargill delivered Jaded onto a ladder to Chelsea Green before climbing toward the championship herself, only for Tiffany Stratton to stop her ascent with repeated right hands and a backstabber.
Tiffany later produced one of the night’s biggest highlights, climbing to the top before Lash Legend caught her and delivered a crushing powerbomb onto a ladder.
Charlotte Flair also nearly captured the title after climbing high enough to grab the championship, but Jade shoved the ladder away, leaving Flair dangling from the title belt before crashing back into the ring.
Tiffany recovered to knock Legend into a ladder before launching herself with a breathtaking Swanton Bomb onto the rest of the field outside the ring, leaving all four competitors laid out. Chelsea Green saw her opportunity and raced up the ladder.
However, just as victory seemed within reach, B-Fab and Michin stormed to the ring, dragging Chelsea down before attacking her. The pair hung Green upside down in a tree-of-woe position using the ladder before throwing Jade back into the ring.
The closing sequence became increasingly chaotic. Michin placed another ladder beside the first as Jade climbed toward the title, only for Charlotte Flair to return and neutralize both B-Fab and Michin with a big boot and clothesline.
A third ladder was introduced as Tiffany, Jade and Flair all battled simultaneously above the ring. Jade managed to knock both Tiffany and Flair off balance, but the collision left everyone sprawled across the canvas.
With every other competitor down, Chelsea Green recovered just in time. She climbed the ladder unchallenged and finally unhooked the championship to become the new Interim WWE Women’s Champion in one of SummerSlam’s most chaotic encounters.
