Brie Bella appears to suffer a serious shoulder injury before Nikki Bella stuns the WWE Universe by attacking Paige after the match.
The six-woman tag team clash at WWE SummerSlam 2026 delivered everything fans expected: fast-paced action, dramatic near falls and a shocking ending that could reshape the womenâs division.
Paige reunited with Brie Bella and Nikki Bella to take on Fatal Influenceâs Fallon Henley, Jacy Jayne and Lainey Reid. While the match itself was highly competitive, the closing moments proved unforgettable after a potential injury to Brie Bella was followed by an unexpected assault from Nikki Bella on her own partner.
Fatal Influence walked away victorious, but the story hardly ended when the referee counted to three and the match concluded.
Fatal Influence capitalized to secure another win
Brie Bella opened the match against Fallon Henley and immediately showcased the aggressive style that made her a fan favorite. After countering an early hip toss, Brie launched into her trademark YES Kicks before avoiding attacks from both Jacy Jayne and Lainey Reid.
Outside the ring, Paige and Nikki Bella neutralized the interference, allowing Brie to maintain momentum. She followed with a series of uppercuts before climbing to the top rope, but Jayne intervened by pulling her off the turnbuckle.
Fatal Influence quickly took control. Reid attacked Brie at ringside before stomping her against the steel steps, and Jayne followed with a cannonball into the steps as the trio celebrated their advantage.
Back inside the ring, Jayne connected with a senton splash for a near fall before Reid entered and continued isolating Brie. Fatal Influence repeatedly cut off every attempt at making a tag, using frequent substitutions to wear their opponent down.
Eventually, Brie created just enough separation by clotheslining Reid, allowing Nikki Bella to receive the hot tag. Nikki exploded into the match with a flurry of clotheslines, a facebuster and an impressive combination that sent Henley crashing into Jayne before planting Reid with an X-Factor for a close two-count.
Moments later, Nikki nearly secured the victory with the Rack Attack 2.0, but Jayne rushed in to break up the pinfall. The action quickly broke down as Paige wiped out Henley with a cannonball from the apron while Brie returned to the ring. However, disaster struck shortly afterward.
Brie appeared to suffer a serious shoulder injury during the closing sequence. She immediately grabbed her arm, which hung awkwardly at her side as she struggled to continue competing. Despite obvious discomfort, Brie attempted to remain involved, but her offense was noticeably weakened.
Fatal Influence capitalized on the situation, disrupting The Bella Twinsâ attempted double-team offense before Henley and Reid combined for a devastating double-team neckbreaker on Nikki. Although Paige broke up the pin, Reid quickly neutralized her.
Jayne then caught Paige off guard after a brief distraction and connected with the Rolling Encore, scoring the decisive pinfall for Fatal Influence against the WWE legends.
Nikki Bella shocks Paige after the match
Following the victory, Fatal Influence celebrated before leaving the ringside area, seemingly satisfied with a major SummerSlam win. Attention soon shifted toward Brie Bella, who remained in visible pain while clutching her injured shoulder.
As Paige embraced both Bella Twins in a show of support, the atmosphere suddenly changed. Without warning, Nikki Bella blasted Paige with a forearm to the face.
A stunned Brie, still struggling with her injured shoulder, could only deliver a few weak stomps while Nikki continued the assault. Nikki then lifted Paige and delivered a thunderous Rack Attack 2.0, standing over her former ally while taunting the crowd.
The Bella Twins walked away together, leaving Paige laid out in the ring. Meanwhile, Brie appeared visibly emotional as officials checked on her injured shoulder, adding another layer of uncertainty to an already shocking conclusion.
SummerSlamâs opening womenâs showcase ended with Fatal Influence earning a statement victory, but it may ultimately be remembered for Nikki Bellaâs stunning betrayal and the worrying condition of Brie Bella following what appeared to be a significant shoulder injury.
