The Women’s World Championship was a banger

Night two of WWE SummerSlam 2025 kicked off with electric energy from MetLife Stadium, with WWE CCO Triple H welcoming the roaring crowd to what he promised would be the biggest SummerSlam in history.

Following a lively video package and backstage shots of talent entering the building, the show’s opening contest brought instant chaos as Naomi defended her Women’s World Championship against IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley.

With the high stakes set, the crowd was red-hot as the bell rang. Naomi initially got tossed outside, only for Ripley and SKY to briefly double-team the champion. But miscommunication led to Ripley decking SKY, setting the tone for a wild three-way.

Naomi, SKY, and Ripley Leave It All in the Ring

Naomi regained control with high-energy offense, biting Ripley’s hand and landing a springboard kick before Ripley nailed IYO with a DDT. SKY countered with a slick Shotgun Dropkick and 619, while Ripley fired back with a thunderous Release German Suplex.

Midway through, Ripley and SKY squared off with stiff counters—Ripley hit an Electric Chair Drop, but SKY caught her in a Crossface. A Poisonrana nearly ended things, but Naomi returned just in time to break the pin.

The pace only escalated as all three women took wild risks. SKY launched herself with an Asai Moonsault to the floor, followed by Meteoras to both opponents inside the ring. Ripley then flung SKY into the post and nearly won with a Split-Legged Moonsault from Naomi to Ripley—only for SKY to crash in with her own Moonsault, barely keeping the match alive.

Naomi picks up the win

In the final stretch, Ripley spiked Naomi with a brutal Riptide and looked to have the match in hand until SKY broke the count. SKY retaliated with a Sunset Flip Powerbomb on Ripley to the floor, landing her square on Naomi. But just as IYO set up for the kill, Ripley recovered and hit a monstrous Avalanche Riptide.

With SKY seemingly out, Ripley made the cover, but Naomi once again showed her veteran instincts, rushing in at the last moment to roll up Ripley for a shocking win to retain her title.

It was a high-octane match filled with stunning sequences, near-falls, and clever counters. Naomi continues to silence doubters with every performance, and after outwitting two of WWE’s most dangerous challengers, her reign looks stronger than ever.
