Nia Jax is our current Queen of the Ring
Bayley defended her WWE Women’s Championship against Nia Jax, the 2024 Queen of the Ring winner. Bayley has had a successful reign as champion since defeating IYO SKY at WrestleMania XL, most recently defending her title against Piper Niven at WWE Clash at the Castle: Scotland.
Jax dominated the 2024 Queen of the Ring Tournament, culminating in a victory against Lyra Valkyria in the Finals and earning a championship shot at SummerSlam.
Both Superstars are now poised to face off, but Ms Money in the Bank Tiffany Stratton is looming after insinuating that the WWE Women’s Title is what she wants.
Nia Jax is our new WWE Women’s Champion
The WWE Women’s Championship match at SummerSlam 2024 was a thrilling encounter between Bayley and Nia Jax, filled with high-intensity action and dramatic moments. Right from the start, Bayley targeted Jax’s arm, using the ropes and the corner to deliver effective punches and shoulder blocks. However, Nia Jax’s power came into play as she lifted Bayley for a powerbomb, countered by Bayley with a jawbreaker.
Nia Jax, determined to dominate, choked Bayley in the ropes and applied constant pressure. Bayley fought back with punches and kicks, refusing to stay down. A leg drop on the apron missed as Bayley rolled away and kicked Jax to the floor. Seizing the opportunity, Bayley gained momentum with a splash off the steel steps, followed by mounted punches.
Back in the ring, Jax executed a gourd buster and climbed the top rope for a diving leg drop, but Bayley evaded the move and nearly won with a Bayley-to-Belly suplex. The Role Model attempted her finishing move, the Rose plant, but Nia countered with a powerful Rock Bottom from the corner. Despite a Banzai Drop from Jax, Bayley kicked out, stunning the crowd and leaving Jax in disbelief.
The match continued with both women trading blows and collapsing in the ring. Jax’s corner body avalanche set up a hip attack, but Bayley recovered and delivered a stunning powerbomb from the second rope, earning a near fall. Tiffany Stratton ran down with the Money in the Bank briefcase, but Bayley knocked her off the apron.
Bayley went for a folding press, but Jax kicked out at two. As the action continued, Jax hit a pop-up powerbomb, rolled through, and followed with a Jackknife Powerbomb. With Bayley up in the corner, Nia Jax delivered the decisive Banzai Drop, securing the pinfall victory and becoming the new WWE Women’s Champion.
The match concluded with Tiffany Stratton and Nia Jax celebrating their victory while Bayley lays in agony on the floor, having fought valiantly but ultimately falling short in this intense and hard-fought battle.
