“The Ruler” survives Brock Lesnar’s most vicious assault to end their rivalry and cement himself as WWE’s newest dominant force.
Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi brought their bitter rivalry to a violent conclusion inside Hell in a Cell at WWE SummerSlam 2026, delivering one of the most punishing matches of the year.
The rubber match between the two heavyweights lived up to every expectation as steel chairs, ring steps, tables and even the exposed wooden ring boards came into play.
In the end, however, it was Oba Femi who stood tall, surviving everything Lesnar could throw at him before scoring the biggest victory of his WWE career. As Michael Cole declared after the final bell, “The Next Big Thing is here!”
Brock Lesnar throws everything at Oba Femi inside Hell in a Cell
The match exploded into action as soon as the opening bell rang. Oba Femi overwhelmed Lesnar early with heavy strikes, corner attacks and a thunderous running elbow before Lesnar responded by dragging him to Suplex City with three consecutive German Suplexes.
Rather than staying down, Femi immediately rose to his feet and stunned Lesnar with a clothesline over the top rope before launching the fight outside the ring.
The battle quickly spilled around the Cell as Femi bounced Lesnar off the apron, while Lesnar answered by driving his rival into the steel steps. Femi then countered a suplex attempt and planted Lesnar with a vertical suplex on the arena floor before introducing a table into the match.
With Paul Heyman watching nervously from outside the Cell, Femi drove Lesnar through the table that had been propped against the Cell wall.
Back inside the ring, Lesnar shifted momentum by smashing Femi in the face with the steel ring steps before unloading with a relentless barrage of German Suplexes. He repeatedly attacked Femi’s back with a steel chair, bent the chair over his spine, and continued the punishment with another crushing vertical suplex.
Lesnar later placed two steel chairs in the center of the ring and delivered another devastating suplex onto them before confidently posing for the roaring SummerSlam crowd.
Oba Femi survives three F5s and a Tombstone to shock Brock Lesnar

Momentum continued to swing wildly as Femi escaped an F5 attempt and answered with a one-armed spinebuster before following up with a huge chokeslam and an incredible throw that left Lesnar reeling.
Femi connected with his devastating Fall From Grace, but Lesnar somehow escaped the pinfall. Moments later, Lesnar eerily sat up in classic Undertaker fashion before laughing at his opponent. The Beast Incarnate then connected with one F5.
Femi stood back up. Lesnar delivered a second F5. Femi rose again. A third F5 finally earned Lesnar a near fall, but even that wasn’t enough to keep “The Ruler” down.
Growing increasingly desperate, Lesnar tore apart the ring, exposing the wooden boards beneath the canvas before paying tribute to The Undertaker with his trademark throat-slash gesture.
He then shocked the crowd by delivering a Tombstone Piledriver directly onto the exposed wood. Even that failed. Femi somehow kicked out once again. With Lesnar running out of answers, Femi fought back, punched a steel chair from his opponent’s hands, and planted Lesnar with one final Fall From Grace.
This time there was no escape. The referee counted three as Oba Femi secured the defining victory of his WWE career. After the match, Michael Cole summed up the significance of the moment by proclaiming, “The Next Big Thing is here!”
A visibly emotional Brock Lesnar stood outside the Cell alongside Paul Heyman with tears in his eyes, while Femi looked back at his fallen rival with a mixture of respect and sadness after bringing their unforgettable rivalry to an emphatic end. Lesnar then stepped back into the ring to embrace Femi and announce him as the future.
