WWE debuted a brand-new special event as Sunday Night’s Main Event took over Sunday, September 6, marking the first time the long-running franchise has aired on a Sunday. The show emanated from the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
The five-match card featured a United States Championship change, the shocking return of a former Vision member, and a grudge-filled main event between two of the promotion’s most storied names.
Apart from a five-minute survival challenge involving rapper Lil Yachty, the show featured a six-woman tag team match, a battle between two of WWE’s brightest young stars, and a personal blow-off between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton.

Dominik Mysterio vs Joe Hendry – Pre-show match
On the Countdown pre-show, AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio snapped a four-month singles losing streak against returning star Joe Hendry. The Judgment Day was at ringside throughout, with JD McDonagh repeatedly distracting the referee to help Mysterio recover whenever Hendry gained momentum.
The finish came when McDonagh’s interference allowed Mysterio to catch Hendry with a head kick, follow up with a 619, and finish him off with a frog splash for the pin. Liv Morgan capped the segment by cutting a promo on her upcoming Women’s World Championship defense against Stephanie Vaquer on Raw.
Winner: Dominik Mysterio

Baron Corbin (c) vs Lil Yachty – Five-minute survival challenge
In the opening segment, United States Champion Baron Corbin faced rapper-turned-wrestling-manager Lil Yachty under a unique stipulation: if Yachty could last five minutes in the ring with Corbin, Trick Williams would be granted a title shot against Corbin later in the night.
Corbin chased Yachty around ringside, whipping him into the barricade and clearing the announce table, while Yachty’s entourage tried to shield him. Despite the beating, Yachty survived the full five minutes, setting up the title match.
Winner: Lil Yachty (survives five minutes)

Baron Corbin (c) vs Trick Williams – WWE United States Championship match
With his title opportunity secured, Trick Williams wasted no time rushing Corbin and slamming his head into the announce table. Corbin fired back, throwing Williams into the steel steps and controlling long stretches of the contest.
Williams battled back with a Book End and a running bulldog, but Corbin nearly finished things off by smashing him with the title belt after Lil Yachty tried to snatch it away. Williams survived, reversed an End of Days attempt, and connected with the Trick Shot for the win.

Oba Femi vs Bron Breakker
Two of WWE’s brightest young stars collided as Paul Heyman billed the match as a decider for “the future of WWE.” Femi and Breakker traded evenly early, with Femi landing a thunderous chest slap before Breakker took control by slamming him into the ring apron and announce table.
Breakker dominated for a stretch with chokes and German suplexes, but Femi fired up with a massive chokeslam. The Vision then began interfering — Austin Theory was sent through a table and Logan Paul was ejected by the referee — before Maxxine Dupri slipped Breakker a pair of brass knuckles.
Femi avoided the punch, but Bronson Reed suddenly emerged from the crowd and blasted Femi with a steel chair, causing the disqualification. Reed and Breakker then hit a series of spears and multiple Tsunamis on Femi after the bell.
Winner: Oba Femi (via disqualification)

Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss & Tatum Paxley vs Jade Cargill, Michin & B-Fab
The six-woman tag saw Flair, Bliss and Paxley take on the trio of Cargill, Michin and B-Fab, with both teams matching each other in gear and intensity. Michin and B-Fab isolated Bliss for a stretch before a hot tag brought Flair in to run through the opposition with a cross-body, a big boot, and a release German suplex.
Flair fought off Cargill’s Jaded attempt and hit a moonsault, but B-Fab’s repeated interference proved decisive, allowing Cargill to finally connect with Jaded on Flair to secure the win.
Winner: Jade Cargill, Michin & B-Fab

Cody Rhodes vs Randy Orton
The main event was a rematch of their WrestleMania 42 clash, with Orton having returned at SummerSlam to cost Cody Rhodes his Undisputed WWE Championship match against CM Punk. The two brawled before the bell even rang, spilling into the crowd with trash cans and fists.
Once the match officially started, Rhodes locked in the Figure Four before Orton took control with an RKO after a ref bump. Rhodes fired back with a suicide dive, busted Orton open with the steel steps, and unloaded a Super Cody Cutter. As Rhodes lined up a finishing punt, Orton begged for mercy — only to deliver a low blow on Rhodes and the second referee before hitting an RKO to steal the pin.
Winner: Randy Orton
