Cody Rhodes vs Randy Orton headlines a historic first-ever Sunday Night’s Main Event edition of WWE’s NBC special, live from Atlanta.
WWE’s Sunday Night’s Main Event is breaking from tradition this month. For the first time in the show’s history, the NBC special will air on a Sunday instead of its usual Saturday slot, with the 46th overall episode set for September 6during Labor Day weekend, live from State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
The date fills the gap between SummerSlam and Money in the Bank — it was originally earmarked for Money in the Bank before that premium live event was shifted to October 10 in New Orleans. Atlanta previously played host to the show in July 2025, when Gunther defeated and retired WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg in the final match of his career.
This time there’s no retirement bout, but the card carries plenty of weight. Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton renew their 20-year rivalry, Oba Femi and Bron Breakker collide in a first-time singles encounter, and Atlanta native Quavo opens the show with a live musical performance.
