WWE is home to some of the most intense and physically demanding action in all of sports entertainment. While these moments often produce unforgettable memories for fans, they also come with a heavy cost of injuries.

The demanding schedule, high-risk maneuvers, and constant travel take a toll on the performers, and sometimes, superstars are sidelined for extended periods.

In 2025, WWE has already seen a number of top talents taken out of action due to serious injuries. For some, the recovery time is projected to last until the end of the year, meaning a potential return is only likely in 2026.

Here are the top three WWE superstars currently out with long-term injuries:

3. Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens is one of WWE’s most beloved and battle-tested performers, but his body has taken years of punishment.

Owens has been dealing with neck issues since January 2025, which began after a hard-hitting match with Rey Mysterio on SmackDown. Despite the injury, Owens powered through and delivered an impressive showing at Elimination Chamber 2025, defeating longtime friend and rival Sami Zayn.

Since then, however, he has disappeared from WWE programming, focusing on healing. Owens has openly stated in interviews that he’s opted not to undergo surgery, hoping his neck improves naturally.

Unfortunately, this means his recovery process will take longer than usual. As of now, WWE has not issued an official timeline, but Owens himself has hinted that he may not be ready until 2026.

2. Zoey Stark

Zoey Stark’s rise on Monday Night RAW has been consistently impressive, but her momentum hit a major roadblock in May 2025.

During a Triple Threat match against Kairi Sane and Rhea Ripley, Stark sustained a nasty knee injury following an awkward landing from an aerial maneuver.

The aftermath of the move saw her clutching her knee in pain, and she was immediately pulled from television appearances.

While Stark has since been working on her recovery and training at the UFC Performance Institute, insiders have reported that her injury is more serious than initially believed.

She is now expected to miss the rest of 2025. This hiatus will interrupt her growing presence in the women’s division, but WWE has faith that Stark can return stronger next year.

1. Liv Morgan

Liv Morgan suffered a significant setback during her match against Kairi Sane on a recent episode of WWE RAW. During the bout, Morgan took an awkward fall, which led to a legitimate shoulder injury.

Reports confirmed shortly after the match that the former SmackDown Women’s Champion had dislocated her shoulder.

Medical evaluations later revealed that the injury would require surgery and an extensive rehabilitation process. WWE officials have since stated that Morgan will be out for at least six months, effectively ruling her out for the remainder of 2025.

This comes as a huge blow not only to her fans but also to The Judgment Day faction, where Morgan was becoming a central figure. If all goes well in recovery, she is expected to return sometime in early 2026.
