R-Truth’s 17-year tenure with the promotion has come to an end!

R-Truth shocked the entire pro wrestling world yesterday, announcing that his contract with WWE will not be renewed. The former multi-time 24/7 Champion recently competed in a high-profile match against his “childhood hero.”

Truth competed against John Cena in a non-title match at the May 24 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event. According to Fightful Select, it’s not just wrestling fans who are puzzled by the news. WWE sources have told the publication that they, too, were caught off guard by the sudden release of the beloved locker room veteran.

Kevin Owens reacted to the news, stating that he has immense respect, love, and admiration for Truth and lauded his unmatched ability to entertain and bring a smile to everyone’s faces.

Truth’s former tag team partner (Awesome Truth), The Miz, reacted to the news, stating that forming the tag team with Truth was one of the best runs of his career.

Monday Night Raw’s color commentator Pat McAfee shared a heartfelt message, writing, “I love @RonKillings. It’s guaranteed joy when he’s a part of a segment.. He’s also my dad’s favorite WWE Superstar of all time. The McAfees are bummed aht but we all know RTruth will continue to bless the world with his BIG ass brain. THANK YOU TRUTH.” Damian Priest also posted a photo of him alongside Truth and Rhea Ripley.

Chelsea Green praised his influence on her own journey, tweeting, “@RonKillings walked so I could run. Funniest man in wrestling. I can’t wait to see what you do next.”

Former Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley also reacted to the news, thanking the legend for his contributions. Bayley also tweeted expressing gratitude, while Naomi and Jade Cargill, while expressing their shock, started arguing with each other.

Carlito recently won the WWC Puerto Rico Championship

Judgment Day’s Carlito also announced that his contract with the promotion will not be renewed. This came after PWInsider reported that Carlito would also be on his way out once his deal expires. The news comes a day after he won the WWC Puerto Rico Championship, defeating Ray Gonzalez at WWC Summer Madness 2025.

Fellow Judgment Day member, JD McDonagh, shared his dismay on Instagram, reminiscing about their time together and emphasizing how unpredictable the business is, never knowing when it’ll be the last moment with someone.

Absolutely gutted. It’s so hard getting close to people in the business, you never know when it’s gonna be the last car ride, the last hug.

WE LOVE YOU DON CARLY, see you around dawg. 💔

Karrion Kross also reacted to the departure of the two stars, pointing out that the fans should not behave as if they’re completely gone and should support them by keeping up with their social media platforms.
