The United States Championship has been a nightmare for many top WWE stars
Grand Slam is an accomplishment recognized in the pro-wrestling industry, who reaches the distinctive landmark by winning specific championships throughout their career. A WWE superstar becomes a Grand Slam Champion by winning a World Championship, Tag Team Championship, Intercontinental Championship and United States Championship.
WWE has recognized a total of 24 Grand Slam Champions in the Men’s roster who achieved all the landmarks. Here we take a look at some of the wrestlers who are just a United States Championship win away from becoming the Grand Slam Champion in WWE.
Big E
Big E is a 12-time champion in WWE, who held the WWE Championship once, the NXT Championship once, the Intercontinental Championship twice, the Raw Tag Team Championship twice, SmackDown Tag Team Championship six times. He is the 33rd Triple Crown Champion, however, he is just a United States Championship away from becoming the Grand Slam Champion of the company. Big E is now away from TV due to his neck injury and he is unsure about his in-ring return, being uncleared to compete for a long time.
Braun Strowman
‘The Monster Among Men’ Braun Strowman is a four-time champion in WWE, who held the Universal Championship once, the Intercontinental Championship once and the Raw Tag Team Championship twice. Strowman is just a United States Championship away from becoming the Grand Slam Champion of the company. Strowman is currently active in the Raw brand, however the US title belongs to the SmackDown brand. This seemingly hints that it will take him a while to reach the Grand Slam milestone.
Drew McIntyre
Drew McIntyre is a seven-time champion in WWE, who held the WWE Championship twice, the World Heavyweight Championship once, the NXT Championship once, the Intercontinental Championship once & WWE/Raw Tag Team Championship twice. McIntyre is the 31st Triple Crown Champion, however, is just a United States Championship away from becoming the United States Champion.
Cody Rhodes
Cody Rhodes is a twelve-time champion in WWE, who held the WWE Championship once, the Universal Championship once, the Intercontinental Championship twice, the SmackDown Tag Team Championship once, the Raw Tag Team Championship four times and the World Tag Team Championship three times. Cody is the 34th Triple Crown Champion in WWE, however, is only a United States Championship away from becoming the Grand Slam Champion.
CM Punk
CM Punk is one of the most successful professional wrestlers in WWE. He is an eight-time champion in WWE, who held the WWE Championship twice, World Heavyweight Championship thrice, ECW Championship once, Intercontinental Championship once and World Tag Team Championship once. Punk is the 19th Triple Crown Champion in WWE, however is just a United States Championship away from becoming the Grand Slam Champion.
The Rock
The Rock is one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time. The Great One has held a total of seventeen championships in WWE. The Rock held the WWE Championship eight times, the WCW Championship twice, the Intercontinental Championship once and WWF Tag Team Championship five times. He is the sixth Triple Crown Champion, however, is only a United States Championship away from becoming a Grand Slam Champion.
