WWE in talks with multiple superstars regarding contract extensions: Reports

Chad Gable, Natalya, Angel, Berto & Ricochet’s WWE contract status update!

WWE has been building the active roster for a longer time and has been signing a number of great talents to the company. It was previously reported that a number of WWE talents are coming to an end of contract by this year, especially by the summer.

We have seen multiple top stars re-signing their contracts with great compensation in recent times, nearing contract expiry. Now multiple backstage reports reveal that the company is in extensions with multiple WWE talents to avoid free agency.

Update on multiple WWE contract status & extensions

According to the latest report of Fightful Select, WWE has been in contract extensions with Chad Gable, Natalya, Angel and Berto. They learned that all of them are nearing contract expiry in the upcoming weeks and are yet to sign the paperwork to extend their tenure.

Chad Gable’s contract status

In the previous report from Fightful, they revealed that Chad Gable‘s WWE Contract will be up by this Friday on June 7, 2024. However he has been booked beyond his contract for the Intercontinental Championship match against Sami Zayn at Clash at the Castle 2024 on June 15, 2024 in Glasgow, Scotland. It seems like the company is hopeful about Gable remaining in the company.

Natalya’s contract status

Natalya, the active long tenured veteran Women’s wrestler of the company’s contract is set to expire soon. PWInsider reported that the company has reached out to her two-three weeks ago and there is an ongoing negotiation about signing a contract extension. The report noted that several sources within the company were surprised at delayed contract negotiations with her, however they feel the deal will happen.

Angel & Berto’s contract status

Fightful reported that Angel & Berto of Legado Del Fantasma’s WWE contract will end by August 1, 2024 and both the sides are interested in signing a contract extension.

Ricochet’s contract status

Fightful Select reported that Ricochet’s five year WWE contract will be up by this summer and there is no update on the contract extensions yet. The report noted that Ricochet has interest outside the company, potentially in AEW. They mentioned the recent interview of Will Ospreay saying that Ricochet would love to face him again after his contract ends.

“He signed a 5-year deal in 2019. I know he’s got interest from outside of WWE. I know for a fact. He absolutely does. Will Ospreay was even open in an interview last week saying ‘he’d love to face him again,’ and ‘at least his contract is up soon.”
