The PLE will take place in Riyadh.
WWE is gearing up for its next premium live event, Night of Champions 2026, which is scheduled to take place in Saudi Arabia later this month. Following the success of Clash in Italy 2026, the Stamford-based promotion is once again looking to deliver a blockbuster international show.
The major focus heading into the event has revolved around the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments. The promotion has dedicated weeks of television to tournament matches, and the finals are expected to headline the premium live event in Saudi Arabia.
While fans can still expect multiple high-profile bouts on the card, not every championship appears likely to be defended. Based on the current storylines and creative direction, several titleholders could end up missing the event entirely.
4. Women’s United States Championship

The introduction of the Women’s United States Championship in 2024 was viewed as a major boost for WWE’s women’s division. The mid-card title created more opportunities and added depth to the roster.
Tiffany Stratton currently holds the championship after defeating Giulia, but her reign has lacked momentum in recent weeks. There is no established challenger waiting in line, and WWE appears focused on other women’s storylines heading into Night of Champions.
Another important detail is the championship’s history in premium live events. Unlike the Women’s Intercontinental Championship, the Women’s United States Title has rarely been showcased on major PLE cards since its introduction.
3. WWE Tag Team Championships
The WWE Tag Team Championships may also miss the event entirely due to uncertainty surrounding R-Truth’s condition. Truth and Damian Priest currently hold the titles, but the veteran’s injury situation has complicated the division significantly.
During an interview with WhittyWhittler, R-Truth addressed his condition and revealed that MFT has been responsible for his recent inactivity. His comments only intensified speculation surrounding the future of the tag titles.
At this stage, Priest and Truth defending the championships at Night of Champions seems highly unlikely. Meanwhile, the World Tag Team Title picture continues moving forward, with Seth Rollins, Montez Ford, Bron Breakker, and Austin Theory seemingly positioned for a major showdown.
2. Women’s World Championship

Liv Morgan defeated Stephanie Vaquer clean at WrestleMania 42 to capture the WWE Women’s World Championship. Many expected The Miracle Kid to usher in a fresh and active era for the RAW women’s division.
Instead, her title reign has lacked a clear direction. Despite holding the championship for over 50 days, Morgan has yet to defend the title or establish a definitive next challenger on the red brand.
Interestingly, Liv has shifted her attention toward the Queen of the Ring tournament, openly chasing even more gold. With no storyline currently building around her championship, the Women’s World Title appears unlikely to be defended in Saudi Arabia.
1. World Heavyweight Championship

‘The OTC’ Roman Reigns has silenced critics since capturing the World Heavyweight Championship. The Original Tribal Chief has appeared consistently on Monday Night RAW and already defended his title twice during his ongoing reign.
However, recent developments strongly suggest that Reigns may not compete at Night of Champions. WWE’s official promotional poster for the event noticeably excluded the OTC, immediately sparking speculation about his status for the Saudi Arabia show.
There has also been virtually no creative build involving Reigns since Clash in Italy. Adding further fuel to the rumors, Roman was absent from the June 8 edition of RAW, making it increasingly likely that the World Heavyweight Championship will not be defended at the event.
