Limping and clearly compromised, the challenger tried to muster one final Claymore, but his body gave out before he could land it.

Rhodes seized the moment, planting McIntyre with a devastating Super Cody Cutter. That set up the finishing blow, a Cross Rhodes delivered with precision. The champion covered his opponent for the three-count, retaining the WWE Championship in front of an electric Indianapolis crowd.
