The first Rey de Reyes under the WWE banner features an open challenge.

The 29th edition of Rey de Reyes is set to take place on March 14, 2026, at Auditorio GNP Seguros in Puebla de Zaragoza, Puebla.

The 2026 edition will be presented as a three-week series, airing on FOX in Latin America and YouTube and Facebook everywhere else, each Saturday from March 14 through March 28, 2026.

Notably, this will mark the first Rey de Reyes show staged under WWE’s ownership of AAA, continuing a tradition that began in 1997. Similar to the previous events since the takeover last year, the event will feature stars from the Stamford-based promotion.

A four-way Rey de Reyes tournament final has been announced for the show to determine the #1 contender for the AAA Mega Championship. The match will feature La Parka, “The Original” El Grande Americano, El Grande Americano, and Santos Escobar.

Meanwhile, AAA Reina de Reinas Champion Flammer has issued an open challenge, putting her title on the line, and it remains to be seen who steps up to challenge the Champion.

On the other hand, following his loss of the Intercontinental Championship against Penta on Raw, AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio is scheduled to face El Hijo del Vikingo in a no-disqualification match for the AAA Mega Championship.

Furthermore, Pagano and Psycho Clown will defend the AAA World Tag Team Championship against the former WWE World Tag Team Champions, The War Raiders (Erik and Ivar).

Additionally, Laredo Kid will defend the AAA World Cruiserweight Championship in a four-way match against Dragon Lee, TJP, and Jack Cartwheel. WWE’s Intercontinental Champion Penta is also confirmed to make an appearance on the show.
