Karrion Kross is slowly turning into a fan favourite

Despite a surge in fan support and a renewed buzz around his character, it appears that Karrion Kross’s WWE future remains uncertain and the latest contract update is far from what many expected.

According to a report from Fightful Select, Karrion Kross is currently in a contract year, with his deal set to expire sometime this summer. Surprisingly, WWE has reportedly made no moves toward extending his contract or initiating talks for a new deal.

Sources close to the situation revealed that no formal discussions have taken place, and there has been no clear indication that WWE is even considering re-signing the former NXT Champion.

This development comes at a puzzling time. Karrion Kross, real name Kevin Kesar, recently garnered strong fan backing after a series of intense promos, particularly following WrestleMania 41.

On WWE’s own WrestleMania Recap, he cut a passionate promo addressing his lack of opportunities since returning to WWE. The promo struck a chord with fans, who took to social media to rally behind the talented star.

In arenas, chants of support have grown louder, signaling a grassroots movement backing Kross and his on-screen presence.

Karrion Kross’ run after re-joining WWE in 2022

Karrion Kross rejoined WWE in August 2022 alongside his wife and on-screen manager, Scarlett, under the creative direction of Triple H. The duo’s return was met with excitement, as many hoped the former NXT standout would finally receive a proper main roster push.

However, after a few sporadic appearances and storylines, the momentum has slowed significantly. His last televised match was the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal on SmackDown before WrestleMania, and his last singles match on TV was a loss to AJ Styles on the April 14 episode of RAW.

Making matters more intriguing, Kross was left out of the 2025 Money in the Bank qualifiers entirely, further fueling speculation about his WWE status. Scarlett added to the speculation by posting cryptic messages hinting at a potential departure.

While Kross continues to stay active behind the scenes and remains vocal about his passion for wrestling, this contract uncertainty has blindsided fans. As things stand, there’s no clear path forward for the star and unless WWE changes course soon, Kross could be headed for the exit sooner than anyone expected.
