WWE's plans for SummerSlam 2026 involving Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Oba Femi & more reportedly revealed

SummerSlam 2026 will emanate from Minneapolis.
With the conclusion of Night of Champions in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, all eyes have now turned to ‘Summer’s Biggest Party’, SummerSlam. 2026 Queen of the Ring, Iyo Sky already announced her pick, choosing Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan for Summer’s Biggest Party.
Fans have already started to theorize title showdowns at the PLE, especially with a new Champion and the 2026 King of the Ring crowned. Regarding WWE’s plans for the event, a new report from Wrestling Observer Radio has shed some light on the potential matchups.
Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins has long been planned for SummerSlam
After the Night of Champions, WON’s Bryan Alvarez indicated that World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns is set to revive his feud with Seth Rollins at SummerSlam. Meanwhile, Dave Meltzer added that the match has been planned for a long time for the PLE.
“Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins had been planned for a long time for that show So, you know, once they moved Gunther, because originally it was gonna be Roman Reigns and Gunther, yeah, my impression when Seth Rollins won was that he was wrestling Roman Reigns.” Meltzer said.
Alvarez also predicted that the 2026 King of the Ring winner, Oba Femi, would defeat Sami Zayn and capture the Undisputed title.
“My presumption when the show is over is that Oba Femi is going to kill Sami Zayn at SummerSlam and win that title, and Seth Rollins is going to wrestle Roman Reigns, because I can’t think of any other reason that Seth Rollins should have beaten Bron Breakker clean in this cage match,” Alvarez said.

The 39th edition will air as a two-night spectacle on Saturday, August 1, and Sunday, August 2, 2026, at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The show will mark WWE’s first-ever stadium event in Minneapolis and the city’s second SummerSlam, following the 1999 edition at Target Center.
As noted, Liv Morgan will defend the WWE Women’s World title against the 2026 Queen of the Ring, Iyo Sky. This remains the only match announced for Summer’s Biggest Party in August.
