Xavier Woods’ incredible decade-long streak ends on 7/22 WWE Raw

July 21 is one of the memorable days for The New Day, as it was the day when Xavier Woods with Big E & Kofi Kingston formed one of the iconic factions in WWE history, ‘The New Day’. 

The trio became extremely successful and held a total of fourteen championships in WWE, which includes Kofi Kingston (1) and Big E’s (1) WWE Championship, WWE Raw Tag Team Championship (4 times), WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship (7 times) and NXT Tag Team Championship (1 time).

They crossed the tenth year anniversary as the unit, a day ago. However the online stats reveal that Xavier Woods ended his decade long streak with The New Day on this week’s WWE Raw.

Xavier Woods’ streak ended

On the July 22, 2024 episode of WWE Raw, Xavier Woods teamed up with Akira Tozawa & Otis of Alpha Academy in the absence of Kofi Kingston and faced Karrion Kross, Akam & Rezar of Final Testament in a six-man tag team match. Although Woods, Otis & Tozawa gave a tough fight, Final Testament won the match, by pinning Woods.

The online WWE stats noted that this is the first time since 2014, Woods has competed in a tag team match without Kofi Kingston or Big E as his partners. Woods has never competed in a tag team match without Big E or Kofi, since the formation of New Day ten years ago, and the long term streak of Woods with The New Day came to an end this Monday. Last time Woods teamed up without a New Day member was back in 2014 at the Main Event show, where he teamed with R-Truth.

What happened to The New Day members?

Big E has been on hiatus for a long time since March 2022, due to career threatening neck injury, from which he has not been cleared yet. Big E is also unsure about his in-ring return and there is no return timeline on him. On the other hand, Big E suffered an arm injury two weeks ago, when Kross locked Kofi with a cross jacket, after their match.

As both the New Day members were away from in-ring competition, Woods had no other option to break his long time streak with the New Day.
