The semi-final across the two legs is building up to be extremely exciting due to the quality of players in both camps.

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are going to face Borussia Dortmund in the semi-final of the 2023-24 UEFA Champions League (UCL). The first of the two legs will take place on 2 May 2024 at the Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund, Germany. Both teams boast of exceptional players in their squads and it is hard to predict which team will come out on top to secure a place in the final at Wembley Stadium in London, England.

The Parisians, in particular, have more pressure on their shoulders going into the two-legged tie. Despite a hefty investment and signing of world-class players over the years, Paris Saint-Germain have failed to lift the UCL trophy, which still eludes them since the takeover by Qatar Sports Investments in 2011.

Going into the first leg in Germany, manager Luis Enrique will bank on his players to produce a positive result under a hostile crowd to take back home. Here is a look at the predicted lineup that could do the job for Paris Saint-Germain against Borussia Dortmund in the first leg:

PSG predicted lineup (Formation: 433)

GK – Gianluigi Donnarumma

Gianluigi Donnarumma is one of the first players to be selected in the lineup. His presence and composure will come in handy in a pressure situation like the UEFA Champions League semi-final.

RB – Achraf Hakimi

Achraf Hakimi has been a consistent performer for Paris Saint-Germain this season. The full-back is likely to get the nod and impact the game with his sensational forward runs from the right-back slot.

CB – Marquinhos

Marquinhos is the captain of the team and leads by example. The Brazilian international has made 32 appearances already for the club in all competitions and will play a huge part in keeping Borussia Dortmund’s attackers in check.

CB – Lucas Hernandez

Lucas Hernandez is set to partner Marquinhos in the backline. His quality with the ball on his feet gives him an edge over Milan Skriniar and his synergy with Marquinhos is impressive too.

LB – Nuno Mendes

Nuno Mendes is an extremely talented full-back, showcasing quality in both defence and attack. His battle with Karim Adeyemi of Borussia Dortmund is going to be mouth-watering for the fans to watch.

CM – Warren Zaire-Emery

Warren Zaire-Emery is one of the most talented teenagers in the world of football at the moment. The 18-year-old can hold his own in the midfield against more experienced opponents and influence the game with his exceptional passing and dribbling qualities.

CM – Vitinha

Vitinha is the driving force in Paris Saint-Germain’s midfield. The midfield maestro can run rings around the opposition with his movement and precision passing. He scored two goals in both legs in the previous tie against FC Barcelona, showcasing his tendency to contribute with goal contributions.

CM – Fabian Ruiz

Fabian Ruiz is set to start for Paris Saint-Germain keeping in mind his consistent performances across all competitions this year. He has two goals and six assists for PSG and would aim at adding a few more to his record going into the semis.

RW – Ousmane Dembele

Ousmane Dembele is in a rich vein of form. The FIFA World Cup-winning winger is finally running on all cylinders, away from the troubles of injuries. Borussia Dortmund must be wary of the attacker who scored in both legs against his former team FC Barcelona.

LW – Kylian Mbappe

Kylian Mbappe is an integral player for Paris Saint-Germain. In what is possibly his last UCL campaign with the Parisians, the French superstar would like to deliver the elusive trophy before his likely move to Real Madrid in the summer. He is leading the race for the Golden Boot in the 2023-24 season with eight goals.

ST – Goncalo Ramos

Goncalo Ramos should get the nod in the striker’s position considering his form of late. The Portuguese international has scored three in his last three appearances, an injury-time goal to secure a point for PSG against Le Havre and a brace in a 4-1 win against Olympique Lyonnais in Ligue 1 before that.
