AEW star Bryan Danielson’s full-time career officially comes to an end

Bryan Danielon is one of the most talented and extremely popular wrestlers of the modern era. He is known for his time in WWE as Daniel Bryan, where he was the five-time world champion and gained huge popularity and fame.
Bryan became extremely popular for his feud with Authority and the “Yes” movement. In 2021, Bryan moved to AEW and has one of the greatest runs in the company. Danielson has been teasing retirement for a very long time, suggesting that this will be his last year. After a long tease, Bryan’s full-time in-ring career is reportedly over at the 2024 WrestleDream PPV.
Bryan Danielson’s last match at AEW WrestleDream 2024
Bryan Danielson’s AEW contract came to an end earlier this year, however, Danielson continued to work beyond his contract for the All In 2024. Danielson defended his career on the line for the AEW World Championship in a title vs career match, where Bryan won the AEW World title. However, the Blackpool Combat Club turned on him.

This resulted in Jon Moxley challenging Danielson for the AEW World Championship at WrestleDream 2024, if Bryan lost, his full-time in-ring career would come to an end, where Danielson lost the title to Moxley and got brutally assaulted by other Blackpool Combat Club members including Wheeler Yuta, until the AEW stars, officials and securities made the save. The show ended with Danielson being carried out on a stretcher and tears in the eyes of spectators, as it is believed to be the final match of Bryan’s full-time career.
Backstage report on Danielson’s status
At this stage, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported Bryan Danielson’s status after WrestleDream. It is reported that Danielson has been working without a contract with AEW and is effectively a free agent. It is reported that Danielson is expected to have neck surgery soon, before signing a new contract or wrestling elsewhere.
Sean Ross Sapp on Bryan Danielson’s status, “Bryan Danielson has legitimately been working for a number of weeks without a contract and is effectively a free agent. People close to him expect him to get neck surgery relatively soon as opposed to signing or wrestling elsewhere.”
Rumors suggest that there is a chance of Danielson wrestling again, however it is unknown how severe his neck injury is.
