Forbidden Door could be filled with many surprises with potential AEW debuts
AEW and NJPW are all set to host the third edition of the Forbidden Door pay-per-view this year on June 30, 2024, from the UBS Arena in the Long Island hamlet of Elmont, New York, United States. This is a crossover event, where several stars from various promotions work together for the event. Since anything is possible at the event, here are some of the stars who could debut at AEW Forbidden Door 2024.
5. Mandy Rose
Mandy Rose was released from her WWE contract in late 2022 for her third-party venture, which crossed the terms of the company. Rose hasn’t stepped inside the ring since then and is focused on her modeling career, which pays her a lot of money. In a recent interview, Rose addressed her AEW return rumor and said that there is a chance and wished to reunite with several former WWE Stars such as Saraya and Dustin Rhodes. This opens the door that she could appear at AEW Forbidden Door if she wishes to step into the wrestling ring again.
4. Dijak
Dijak recently announced his departure from WWE after his contract expired on June 28, 2024. Dijak was extremely frustrated with the company, as there were no contract negotiation talks with WWE, however, he made the move by announcing that he was ready to challenge himself in the free agency. Since AEW is active in the Free Agency market, Dijak could be making the switch to AEW and make his debut at AEW Forbidden Door.
3. Shane McMahon
There have been several rumors that Shane McMahon is interested in working for AEW. Although there is very little possibility, Tony Khan addressed the rumor and said that he would welcome Shane to AEW, if he is serious about the move. Khan’s statement seems like he is open to the idea. Shane making AEW appearance at AEW Forbidden Door could be the opening of the actual Forbidden Door.
2. Kamille
Kamille is a former NWA Women’s Champion, who backstage reports reveal that she already signed with Tony Khan’s promotion in April 2024. She hasn’t shown up since her signings on AEW TV. Maybe Forbidden Door could be the right time for Kamille to make her AEW debut. She previously hinted at making it to the Double or Nothing, but there is a chance for her debut now. She could confront Tony Storm or Mercedes Mone to get into the title bout directly.
1. Becky Lynch
Becky Lynch’s WWE contract expired on June 1, 2024, after a nine-year-long journey with WWE. Lynch hasn’t signed a new WWE contract yet and has been a free agent. Becky is one of the greatest women’s wrestlers and one of the highest-paid stars based on her previous contract. It was previously reported that Tony Khan is interested in signing Becky if she is interested in making the move for a much bigger deal.
Since being Free Agent, there is a possibility that Lynch could make her appearance at Forbidden Door 2024. She also had opinions about Mercedes Mone signing a big money deal with AEW. So there is a chance that The Man could confront Mone after the Winner Takes All match at AEW Forbidden Door.
