Tony Khan doesn’t mind if Shane McMahon joins All Elite.
According to a recent rumor, Shane McMahon has no longer a contract with WWE. As a free agent, whispers circulated that he may make one of the most significant changes in the history of professional wrestling. Tony Khan recently addressed the rumors that Shane McMahon might be joining AEW.
In an interview with Sports Illustrated, the president of All Elite Wrestling stated: “I heard the rumor he might be interested. I have never met Shane, but we have a lot of mutual friends. I have a lot of respect for him as an executive and professional wrestler. Shane is always welcome in AEW”.
Can Shane McMahon join AEW?
Currently, Shane McMahon is a free agent, and many fans expect him to sign with AEW since WWE is no longer owned by the McMahons. Following the sale to Endeavor, Vince McMahon was barred from the WWE and its offices due to continuing scandals.
On the other side, Triple H may be the leader of the creative staff, but Stephanie McMahon’s WWE role remains unknown. Shane McMahon’s extended absence from WWE, along with his current position as a free agent, has fueled speculation that he may leave the company.
Jim Ross, the current AEW commentator, mentioned Shane’s potential return to AEW on the Grilling Jr. podcast. He said: “It could happen. Oh, absolutely, it could happen. He is a great name identity”.
Sam Roberts also discussed this issue on the Notsam Wrestling podcast. He stated that the current age of wrestling is dynamic and competitive and that now is the greatest moment for Shane to join with AEW. In today’s wrestling scene, everything is possible.
Many other WWE wrestlers jumped ship in past years to become All-Elite
Shane McMahon is already 54 years old and past his peak. However, as a McMahon, he may make a huge contribution to the roster. His wrestling style and recklessness would be ideal for Tony Khan’s business.
Currently, the All Elite Wrestling roster is filled with former WWE wrestlers, including Hall of Fame members. Adam Copeland, Christian, Mercedes Mone, Bryan Danielson, Saraya, Adam Cole, and more well-known players have recently switched teams.
