The 2025-26 Indian Women’s League champions East Bengal FC have qualified for the group stage of the AFC Women’s Champions League 2026-27 after topping their group in the preliminary stage which started on 17th July. The Red and Gold Brigade will represent India in the top flight of Asian Women’s Football for the 2nd time in a row.
In the Preliminary Stage, East Bengal FC were placed in Group A with opponents Sabah from Malaysia, Rovers from Guam and Rajshahi Stars from Bangladesh. All the matches of Group A were played at Likas Stadium in Malaysia, East Bengal FC started their campaign with a 4-0 victory over Rajshahi Stars, a brace from Olivia Anoyke followed by the goals from Astam Oraon and Soumya Guguloth.

The participants for the AFC Women’s Champions League 2026-27 will get to know about their Group Stage opponents for the tournament on 3rd September (Thursday) when the draw ceremony takes place at AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with timings yet to be determined.
The third edition of Asian women’s club competition will saw 12 clubs from across Asia will compete in group stages from 1st November 2026 and conclude on 7th November 2026, before moving into the knockout stages of the competition starting from 27th March 2027.
Semi-Finals will played on 19th May 2027 and the Grand Finale will be played on 22nd May 2027
All the matches will be played in centralised venues where all teams will face each other once, when the draw concludes all the matches of particular group will take place in a centralised venue of any team in the group, for example, in 2021 AFC Champions League group stage, FC Goa’s home ground Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium hosted all the games in group E. Every match will be a Do-or-Die game and carry significant importance moving forward as teams battle to book a spot in the knockout rounds.
