A tough task awaits for Odisha FC Women’s team in the AFC Champions League

Odisha FC Women’s team kicked off their AFC Women’s Champions League group stage campaign on Sunday. They will face Japan’s Urawa Red Diamonds. Urawa came into this fixture with three wins from its five outings and they have top-quality players on their side.

Odisha are confident about recent victories having secured a spot in the group stage by defeating clubs from Singapore and Jordan.

Odisha FC women will miss important players for this upcoming fixture as Grace Hauhnar has been banned for five matches by AFC. Cameroon defender Elaine Manbolamo Bodolo has some issues and star striker Pyari Xaka suffered a minor bike accident before the team left for Vietnam.

The top two teams from each group will directly qualify for the quarterfinals. After this qualification, the two best third-placed teams from the remaining competitors among the three groups will qualify for the quarterfinals too.
