List of all Indian boxers who will compete for gold at Asian Games 2026
Three Indian pugilists will compete for the top prize
The Asian Games 2026 are being held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, from September 19 to October 4.
Boxing has been one of the most successful sports in terms of medals for India at the continental tournament, and the Indian pugilists are once again challenging for gold medals at the Aichi-Nagoya Games.
India sent a strong 11-member boxing contingent to the tournament. However, the pugilists have had a mixed outing so far.
Jadumani Singh, who won silver at the Commonwealth Games 2026, was knocked out in the second round, as was CWG 2026 gold medallist Sakshi Chaudhary. Sachin Siwach, a CWG 2026 and World Boxing Cup gold medallist, suffered a disappointing quarter-final exit.
Narender Berwal had to settle for his second consecutive Asian Games bronze medal, losing to Aibek Oralbay of Kazakhstan. Another CWG 2026 gold medallist, Priya Ghanghas, also suffered a semi-final loss and had to settle for a bronze medal. Kapil Pokhariya also clinched a bronze medal.
Despite having three bronze medals in the kitty, India still have multiple chances of winning a gold medal in boxing, with several Indian pugilists reaching the finals of their respective events.
