Gamers, Chooms and fans of Night City! CD Projekt Red and Studio Trigger are officially back with Cyberpunk Edgerunners 2, whose new trailer has been revealed.
In the new season, we won’t be seeing David Martinez or his gang’s story. Instead, this will be a new standalone story with new characters in Night City. Let’s check out more details in this article.
First trailer for Cyberpunk Edgerunners 2
CD Projekt Red and Studio Trigger has finally revealed the first official look and trailer for Cyberpunk Edgerunners 2.
Neon light city packed with action, chaos and emotion is back once again, introducing a new set of characters and their lives. This will be a new, fresh standalone story and fans are expected to see a completely different perspective on life inside Night City.
Through the trailer itself, you can notice that this sequel is going to heavily focus on revenge, redemption, survival, and identity.
New Main characters
Season 2 is going to introduce four new protagonists:
- Weak Kingsley – A seasoned Edgerunner.
- D – A talented Snake Nation Netrunner.
- Roman Carax – A young filmmaker documenting life across Night City.
- Talia Yang – A ruthless corporate executive with a dangerous obsession with violence.
Their stories will collide in Night City, where survival comes with a heavy price.

Release & platforms
CD Projekt RED and Studio Trigger have announced that Cyberpunk Edgerunners 2 will release in Fall 2026 and will premiere on Netflix.
For now, we don’t have an exact release date for the anime. However, in the upcoming months, you can expect more announcements and updates from the studio.
If you find the original anime darker and emotional, then this sequel is going to take things even further. Make sure to have the tissues ready after watching every episode.
